Culture--is key. Need great people and ALIGNMENT. Mission statement--not about wins or championships--build players to reach their full potential--wins will come if he can do that.
He just wants to get out to RECRUIT--wants better er MORE players.
Question- Edelson- is winning championship goal every year--Ash-wants to be better tomorrow than today. Championship is not goal early on.
Dunleavy--Asks about coaching in Bowl--Ash knows it is a hot topic. Reason he has opportunity is because of OHioState--Gene Smith and Urban Meyer. He wants to finish the job. DOeren finished job. Chrys did it. Herman did it. He promises the few days he is back in Columbus will not take away from Ash's focus.
Sam Hellman--plans for week?--He will get on phone right away. He has to be cautious where he goes. Going to see Mid year enrolliees.
Politi--what do you want to do offensively--Ash laughed at him. Will have offense that will score points.

There is talent in the room. They have work to do to get maximum effort. Did not have to be talked into it and passed up other opportunities.
Brian from Scout-- how to recruite NJ--hire staff that cares about players and are the best. He is not worried about going into homes in NJ-be HONEST AND STRAIGHTFORWARD. Players have to be best recruiters--feel energy and excite and how they go about business.

Ash came prepared with knowledge and plan. This is how you prepare and interview for job. Then look at Ash's career--dramatic improvenet. There is lots of people who know--but only a few can do.

He did not need to come on campus. Not a fun or easy place to play. Ash and wfe met Pat last night, were blown away by place and the team who met today. He met other people in facility--impressed by quality of people.

Brena Flanagan NJTV--biggest challenge? --Ash-will not identify one task. He made joke that NJ media is tame compared to what he heard. First day on job, there was a positive newspaper article. Academics are important. Ash will comply with rules. Wants players to gain employment and network for life time.

As impressive as Ash is in this presser -- and he is very impressive -- Hobbs is saying all the right things, too, and doing it very articulately.

Chris Ash is from my neck of the woods. He basically talks the way EVERYONE talks around here.
Question for Pat--about coaching bowl--Hobbs- wants peoplle to know that Ash is Rutgers head coach--will get exposure through bowl game and will get full efforts of Chris Ash. Hobbs agree with Ash's loyalty statement. Says someting about integrity.
