And 1/4 of the way through year 3, he still has nothing. You act like he got hired a month ago.
He has pieces. You act like he's been here for 5 years. Relax and enjoy the season. They may not be winning like we all may want, but there are pieces being put together.

He's not doing that! That's the worst part. He totally whiffed in the early signing period. He's not bringing in talent so even if he left this year we're facing another long rebuild by his successor.
Stop whining and wait and see what happens. You guys remember Mike Rice had talent and we still was losing.

Take a moment to read this. It's just an article and some selected anonymous quotes. But there's no way when you finish reading it you won't come away concerned about whether Eddie really knows how to do this.

I would agree that he will be let go after this year if it weren't for the $2mm+ that it would cost RU. That makes it at worst 50-50 that he gets another year. But if this play keeps up -- along with the recruiting concerns -- it may become impossible not to fire him.
If they fire him then fire him but you guys remember a coach that had talent and was losing. Never heard anyone call for his head until the scandal. Hmmm what was his name uh Mike Rice

Relax and enjoy the season?

Are we watching the same games?

I can always appreciate effort even if we are getting killed, but we don't even have THAT to enjoy

It's a shame cause he's a good guy, but EJ needs to be let go yesterday

The team is actually getting worse

RU was getting blown out in almost every loss last year. I am at the games. I see a difference. None of you was saying anything when Rice was here and we was still losing and he had talent. So sit back enjoy the season

This is fantasy. After leading by 9 early in the game, we were out scored 73-35. That's reality

What does Rice have to do with any of this. At least his teams gave effort and played defense

But anyway, bringing him up is a red herring

I guess we will see a fire EJ post after every game.Just curious. I don't think Eddie gets fired after this year. If he can't perform with his team next year, he will have issues.

Comments about not teaching rebounding are shocking to say the least. If you can't reinforce the basics t hat are so important, you will not win. If you don't win, fans don't come, money is lost, and the coach gets fired. I for one, a recent college grad trying to get finances under wraps, can't attend home games until the team starts to show they won't get blown out. Little discouraged yesterday.

I think the most obvious need is a front court alongside Freeman for next year. Diallo and staff must be held accountable for that. We need someone to rebound alongside Freeman for next year. Hopefully Greg plays his best games agains better opponents.

I think Rutgers recruiting has to step up and focus on establishing relationships with good teams and good coaches. Look for a recruit that has the mentaility to play a forty minute basketball game. Right now, we are struggling to find those guys.

Seems like game after game we are playing unstructured basketball. Improvements must be made, and hobbs isn't going to be as patient as Julie Hermann. He actually gives a hoot about basketball. It's not about facilities either. A recruit wants to come to a winning team first and foremost. We had recruits behind the bench, and I am sure they don't want to come here now

How about the comments by the NJ HS coaches on recruiting? I've never read an article like that before.
Posted in the Rutgers recruiting thread where I read the article those HS HCs comments were in , that I couldn't justify defending Jordan anymore after reading what they said.
So you won't hear a peep out of me saying he needs till the end of next season or it should take 7 years to make RU MBB a winning program.
There is no way ,without decent recruiting, RU MBB will get any better.

Again it's rebuilding. It doesn't happen overnight. What happened to Rice and he had talent

No bringing him up is relevant. Go look at his record and talent compared to EJ. You have your opinion and I have mine

Sports Reference SRS (Simplified Rating System) which attempts to normalize for strength of schedule. Certainly not perfect but you will get the idea:

2002 4.52 (93rd of 321) Waters
2003 5.09 (100th of 325)
2004 8.53 (68th of 326)
2005 3.32 (113th of 326)
2006 8.00 (69th of 326)
2007 -2.25 (164th of 325) Hill
2008 -1.57 (163rd of 328)
2009 1.07 (130th of 330)
2010 1.29 (134th of 334)
2011 7.88 (77th of 345) Rice
2012 5.42 (99th of 344)
2013 5.96 (88th of 347)
2014 -0.29 (162nd of 351) Jordan
2015 0.23 (148th of 351)
2016 -3.59 (211th of 351)

We all know that Jordan inherited a sheet show, but in year 3 there is no excuse for what we have now. I can only dream about teams as competent as Rice's right now.

So our best position was 69 in 2006 ?

There are not nearly enough pieces.

And MR had a few more pieces but not nearly enough (which is why he lost also but not quite as bad)

Funniest post of the year. You'd be a good stand up comedian
