Right, Rice left Rutgers in such good shape and a full roster ready to run.
Facilities are a boon for recruiting and every top player thinks RU is the place to be after seeing them, especially with the success RU MBB has had since 1991.

Blowing double digit leads is bad, but Jordan needs more time than the two years + he has had to make a team that won't blow double digit leads, but win by them .
What's happening doesn't worry me because I think Eddie needs time to build, but what worries me is getting the recruits to build with.
If Jordan can't do that, then there is reason to worry.
I want to see how the freshmen finish this season and if they seemed to have improved during it.
Next year's team will show if Eddie has it or needs to be replaced.

I have a serious question? Do you go to the basketball games? I just want to make sure we are watching the same thing.

Rutgers could not afford to lose that game last night based on being up 12, the loss to St. John's after being up 16, the last few losses in Vegas and the remaining schedule. It's that simple. There are young players on this team and they need a coach. The last 6 minutes of offense was a team playing scared. How many fouls did we have when wake drove to the hoop and why weren't we doing the same? I guess because we can't make our free throws might be the best answer. That was a very mediocre WK team and they will not have a good season. Creighton was a very good team, much better than us.

:scream: there goes our chances of the post season....and the 37 walk up ticket buyers not affilaited with Wake Forrest probably won't come back to the RAC this year

I've seen enough out of our Freshman and Sophomores to at least give Eddie another season. My main issue is recruiting. If we want to progress we need to be getting Sanders and Freeman type classes every year. It's certainly not easy, but Eddie has to get it done.

I've seen enough of the worst coaching I've ever seen. Clean sweep of the two programs and start over.
Really? You don't have a clue. Do you know how hard it is to rebuild a team, bring back a certain type of culture especially when you had nothing to begin with?

Free throws cost us this game!

I didn't expect us to have a chance, so in my opinion Eddie did a great job to give us a chance to win.

AGREE. Another thing, Lewis have to stop trying to force the play inside when there is clearly an open and better shot outside. I believe I saw on 2 occasions where Goode
opened outside and try forcing and missed the shot.

Yes

Yes they were and Grier showed some ability as well. Lewis is a disaster. Wasted trips one after another. It has to be frustrating for sanders to keep throwing it into the post with no results. He's never improved from his freshman year. Sorry for the rants. I'm just so frustrated

Lewis really had a bad game, huh?

Goode played 13 minutes and had 4 of our 6 assists. He only took 2 shots and made one of them on a nice drive along the base line. He is a smart player and he played very well last night. There is no way he forced and missed 2 shots as he only missed one all night. Check the box score.

The big issue I have is establishing the culture. Last night was a very positive step. Jordan must continue on this track.

Thank goodness in this willfully ignorant thread I found this post. Perfectly appropriate and balanced. Well done.

It's hard to make a case that he ever outcoaches his counterpart. Does many baffling things.
Missing foul shots can't be placed on Jordan.Rutgers lost to St.Johns and Wake Forest because of poor foul shooting.Ultimately, the head coach takes the blame because he recruited the players.

We turned them over 18 times and had 18 more shot attempts than them. We shot 36% from the field and 60% from the line. Team only turned the ball over 10 times and 4 of those were Daniels in the ten minutes he played.

We were in great position to win that game last night. EJ cant make the shots for them.

Shooting more isn't the goal. The quality of those shots matters much more. We can't shoot, which is par for the course at RU. More troubling is the circus shots and lack of a system. Again.

Either the wrong kids are being recruited or Eddie doesn't have a system to teach or one that can be grasped. We don't have the talent to play this way, and very likely never will. We have to win better coaching, and no one can feel we have that based on what is being shown on the floor. It's year three. The Rice thing is gone. We should see some tangible thing to point at and say this is who we are. If it didn't happen by now...it ain't going to.

1212, he was talking about Lewis forcing up the shots and not sending back outside to Goode.

I was referring to Lewis forcing 2 shots while Goode was open. I tried to post a follow-up correction. I probably wasn't clear in what I was trying to do. Thanks and have a 5 day.

How many baskets did we score in the last 8 minutes of both of those games - zero last night - a couple at SJU

Foul shooting hurt for sure - but you have to score from the field

Laurant is pretty good, Goode threw him alley oop and he had good dunk. Has talent.

I think Goode had his best game - a couple of really nice assists, including the ally-oop pass to Laurent and a nice outlet pass (to Laurent again I think) for a dunk. But, he must shoot to get playing time. The kid seems afraid to pull the trigger. If he's the dead-eye shooter everyone says he is, I'd like to see Eddie have the team set some screens to give him some clean looks.
