Terrible job by Jordan the second half as it was all coaching that won the game. One timeout left with eternity in the game. Inside game is a freaking joke. How do you lose a 16 pt lead and not put them away? Gonna be a long season folks. This staff is suspect also. Diallo and Laurent had nothing. Lewis....hahaha just a body at this point.

I agree with much of what you said, but Mullen did NOT outcoach Jordan. Jordan just bit it. He was AWFUL down the stretch. From not employing the 2-3 zone the rest of the way to not telling his kids to slow it down and run his full offense and take time off the clock. It was inexcusable that we didn't win this game by at least 15. For what I just described, that IMO, is why Jordan failed.

I was really disappointed by Eddie's lack of emotion when not one, but two obvious St. John's fouls were not called at the end of the game. What is it in our coaches. One gets too emotional and his successor shows none Can't we get a coach who is a nice compromise of these two extremes?

I thought about this. More apt to get a call if there was a next possession. However you need to be focused and have energy about what you are going to do after free throws. Arguing gives kids the mindset we were screwed as opposed to how are we going to execute in the final 6 seconds.

"Awful" would have been down by 15 at the half & beaten by 25 at the end.
- this was not that -
The post-game taste must be bitter for the team - good! let it be something that enrages them - and let the word-of-the-day be 'finish' ...'finish' ... 'finish' - they know that they had a chance to win this & it got away from them .... so they walk away with some confidence that they can play a competitive game - and a vivid awareness of critical areas for major improvement .....
sure beats a butt-whooping.

Why was Sanders on the bench for so long in the 2nd half?
He had a beautiful drive and dish to Williams in the corner for 3. I wanted to see more of that.

Bishop with the ball in his hands is brutal.

As the lead melted away, I kept looking for Sanders on the floor, but he was no where to be seen.
I just knew the lead would keep getting smaller with no offensive flow whatsoever.

So frustrating to watch.
Painful, actually.

He carried us for stretches of the game. With Daniels, the key is knowing when cash in your chips. He will undoubtedly awful destruct at key moments. Eddie should know better.

+1. Daniels was really terrific for a stretch last night for which he deserves praise, but coach has to recognize his limitations. Why in the world you would ever put the rock in his hand with the game on the line is beyond me. All of last year he showed poor decision making and a poor shot. The fact that he made a bunch of nice drives and layups for 25 min. v. SJU doesn't change that. And coach has to recognize that!

this game reminded me off one 2 years ago when JJ Moore single handedly put us in a position to win a game and then individually managed to take it away.

Kind of true. Daniels had a great game but he should not have been the primary ball handler in that late game situation which led to the turnover. I called it that Daniels would cough it up. Luckily Sanders recovered it but unfortunately the refs missed a crucial foul call on the trip that would of sent him to the line

Also playing Diallo over Lewis and Foreman for that long stretch late in the game was also a suspect coaching decision. This is why having Doorson healthy at some point during the season, especially during Big 10 play will be very important because he's much more reliable than Diallo who's a very raw player

How I can see that Daniels should not be bringing the ball up the court against pressure in such a key moment in the game and Eddie doesn't does make me question him a bit but I'm still a fan of Eddie Jordan just so that's clear

With that said, this game was lost at the FT line. The missed call and the coaching decision wouldn't of mattered had Rutgers hit their free throws. But lots to learn from this game. Rutgers deserved to lose this one

Both team shots poor from the line, and be didn't draw nearly enough foul. I was working, but looking at stats, we got wrecked on the boards. I am happy about Foremans rebounds, but as a team, we just got out beefed/out hearted there.

With no reliable scorers, we will live and die with Daniels/Williams all season. Bishop, who I have found to be unwatchable at times, showed some talent I didn't know he had in him. I'm encouraged by his effort. $$$$

If he watched his turnovers, he could be a d league player. The potential is there, but his head has to stay in the game, make the safe pass. I will never throw a player under the bus. We are talking about our alma mater and 18 y/o kids. I would love to see Daniels improve though.

If your team is up by 16, what do you say to them each time out?Don't lose this game, don't f&ck this up, play smart basketball from here on out. Clearly a bad game from a couple of points.
