The St. John's game is very interesting. The last two games were nice but now this is a step up. I think they are a team around the same as us but it is away. Winning an big away game will show us alot about this team. Maybe that they are a little better than most thought.

Vanderbilt's lost to Rutgers wasn't devastating. They had some young pieces and made mistakes. We played our starters the entire 2nd half and ended up losing the last 13 games of the season.

Momentum cannot be understated. Get a string of wins and it's better for the team. I think it will be a close game. A lot depends on how we play defense. This and the other comment to that effect are silly. Of course, no one knows what the future holds. But if you follow a team, you look at different games during the season to see what you have. If you're interested in following this team, tomorrow night is an intriguing game, that's all.

You should be able to beat them pretty easily as they are starting from scratch. After this year it will get much much harder to beat them!

I think tonight's game is interesting, which is the 1st sentence of the post starting the thread.

But I think the headline ("Tomorrow is a Big Day ...") is completely off.

In a 30+ game season, no one game is that important - especially a non-conference game. Especially in a season where RU is not expected to finish with a winning record.

I also do not think a win says RU is better than expected - nor does a loss say RU is worse than expected or as bad as expected.

But a win WOULD be nice: Both as a fan, for the benefit of the players and the program, and for local area bragging rights.

Until I see a larger body of work, I have no idea what to expect from this RU team. This game will be one (but not the only) piece in the puzzle over the next 8-10 games leading into the Big Ten season.
