Agreed. Even that sissy writer from the Asbury Park press piled on about how OSU fans dominated our atmosphere and the entire bunch of them laughed when Federico missed the field goal. We did OK, but the air came out of the stadium when it went to either 14-0 or 21-0.this is a must read article. Very complimentary toward Rutgers and a sign that once people give us a chance that they warm up to our atmosphere.
Note that the writer compliments the full stadium and loudness at the start all the while a few posters continue to harp that side corners of the student section were not full at the start...smh

The packed stadium was great but there was no energy in the stadium from the start. Obviously KF missing that FG wasn't a big help.
I generally agree with this. For all the bickering that you may see among ourselves, I've always said I think we have one of the more patient/tolerating/passionate fans out there given our results.Agreed- the article is spot on. I think what is perhaps the biggest shame of all of this is how badly Rutgers fans want the team to be successful and how supportive we are (not literally, well maybe some of us, but in terms of buying tickets, gear, watching games) of a program that has for the large part not given us much to be supportive of.
Think about some of the other teams in the Big Ten and elsewhere that are similar to Rutgers in terms of football success- Maryland (which may have slightly more success), Indiana, Purdue, Illinois- and I doubt any of these teams have as strong of a fan base as Rutgers. And you KNOW with consistent success in the BIG Ten, our fan base would get larger and larger and the program would continue to grow. So what is it that is holding us back??? I feel like the other teams that are on the same "level" as Rutgers have fan bases that for the most part are indifferent about college football. But Rutgers fans are not! We want so badly to be successful, and it is a shame that the program is not giving themselves that chance.

Which one of you made this sign from the article.

This is correct. I was expecting the place to be loud and crazy like the MSU game or last year PSU and Michigan. It wasn't loud from the start. If he thought that was loud he should have been to the PSU or UM games last year. Last night wasn't even close.
I thought last years PSU game was the loudest, even louder than LoiusvilleThis is correct. I was expecting the place to be loud and crazy like the MSU game or last year PSU and Michigan. It wasn't loud from the start.
I can give him a pass. His team is a storied program, 100K+ stadium, etc. All in all I thought it was quite complimentary. It used to piss me off when I had to hear crap like this from UConn fans. Thankfully, we don't have to hear that anymore.Agreed, thought it was quite complimentary, despite the snark, which is simply that writer's style.
Totally unimpressive atmosphere from the start. With all the hype that Carlin, Flood and others spewed about the opening you would of expected something really cool. Nothing. the crowd was not into it. Hell there was probably 10,000 OSU fans. What a let down the whole game experience was.
Koleszar - nice works from the old buckeye. I to have no faith in the university applying Big Ten funds to athletics only. I see them diverting the soon to be new funds to everything under the sun ala the highway transportation trust fund.

Disagree there was no energy from the start. There was plenty of energy, unfortunately, the team's play pulled the plug on the energy level. The packed stadium was great but there was no energy in the stadium from the start. Obviously KF missing that FG wasn't a big help.
When I first read it I thought KF was Kyle Flood.KF missing the field goal was it for me. No energy after that.
You are off here my man. Great energy before, during and after kickoff. Fans in section 128 stood up for most of 1st and part of 2qtrs. Don't ever recall that happening. The team **** the bed and do not deliver a performance to feed the crowd. RU will get it right but yesterday was not the day. Our crowd was amped and then it got shorted. Btw I brought a friend from NY whose not connected to RU or OSU and he had a blast tailgating. He was amped on our first drive and after RU caused a turnover and we did nothing. Then he and all other were disconnected after RU was overwhelmed. Once talent depth and coaching improve we'll be able to give OSU at least a competitive half of football.
GO RU

For some reason, I like the sound of this. A lot.Either way I love our university and our team.
Go Knigjts!
Yeah we were surrounded in our section.Upper decks were close to 50% OSU fans. Too much dilution of our fan energy. Way lot less energy than the MSU game.
When those fans start the O-H-I-O cheer around OUR stadium in the 4th quarter, it was surreal.
