LOL Rick Pitino has been getting away with murder for years, in the recruiting game, this will somehow get blamed on somewhere else, somewhere else, and Rickie-boy will keep-a-smilin'!

Apparently this happened on Julie's watch at UL from 2010-2014. She signed on at RU on in June 2013. No wonder that RU had her at Hello ? lol

I doubt Julie had much to do w the 'revenue ' sports of Football and Basketball. Seemed the Olympic sports were her 'millieu' as Sly Stallone would say. But , hey, you never know. I would think that would be Rick 'bang the cougar in the restaurant ' Pitino, and Jurich's domain.

If Julie was there, you can expect the press to be on her like a rash.

Wait, weren't we told that JH was Jurich's right hand person at UL and that made her the best candidate for the RU AD position when hired ?

Pitino's faux shock--how could the coach possibly have known what was going on in his program???--has a Joe paternoesque quality to it.

Tampa Bay Times reporting that Pitino and Jurich are saying the accusers are doing it for the money. That may be true but think of the field day the press would have if Flood and Herman said that Carroo's GF#1 was motivated by cash.

Hermann gets credit for her time at Louisville from some of her RU admirers but I'll wager they say she didn't exist at Louisville when this was going on.

I have no problem saying she was there when this happened, so what. So were many other administrators in the department and administrators for basketball. She's suppose to know what a grad assistant is doing for the basketball program? Jurich is the head and he's where the buck stops and he's in no threat of anything unless more comes out. Frankly how much should he know about the actions of some lowly staff member. Maybe he knew maybe he didn't but I'm not naive enough to think this crap doesn't happen all over in football and basketball.

It's her detractors who want to say she had nothing to do with basketball/football only the other sports so she's unqualified to be AD but now that something bad has happened she takes the blame. How's that work? You can't have it both ways.

I don't run from the fact that she was there. I don't care. You guys on the other hand want to say one one hand oh she didn't oversee the major sports she's not fit to be AD but now something bad happens so she's somehow part of it.

If something goes wrong that she should know then JH. Some have said we might have a compliance issue with Flood not going to meetings. I'm not sure it wasn't lax before with Schiano and Flood but still even it was that something she has to fix if it was lax. I said she probably walked into the mess of our AD and with so many things to get done that probably fell by the wayside but it's still her responsibility. I'm fair about assessments on her, others here not so much and will look to pick on anything big or small.

Still haven't seen how it's reconciled that she's not a qualified AD because she wasn't in charge of basketball/football and baseball too actually I think but now something has blown up in basketball and she's connected to it. I don't care that she was there it's fine with me and I don't run away from it.

Even though the buck stops with Jurich, I don't even know how much he should know. A grad assistant hiring escorts? He should know about that? Maybe but how is he suppose to oversee that kind of thing? Unless more info comes out, I don't think he'll get dinged much and I'm sure Louisville still wants him and Texas would too if he ever wanted to move. It's an embarrassment for him and the program if it happened, they may get dinged from the NCAA but life will go on. I'm not naive enough to think that this doesn't happen all over though.

The idiots are shining in this thread, lol!
It's crazy because really there are 2 main functions of the athletic director I care about. Hiring coaches and raising money that's it. Frankly, in most cases they're not even judged so much on the raising money part. It's on the hiring coaches part they're judged and some athletic directors even get multiple bites at the apple. JH hasn't even made a hire in either major sport yet. If and when she does and that hire sucks, then go ahead and ding her for it but until then almost everything else is sideshow.

I've been expecting this type of scandal to explode in big-time college football/basketball recruiting for years.
A long time ago someone pointed out to me in a conversation about the nasty business of recruiting that this kind of activity was sure to get the attention of some of the top high school athletes. I'm actually surprised it took this long.

The Star-Ledger will run full features for weeks, demanding her resignation from Rutgers for her responsibility in the Louisville basketball scandal.
Yep. Who doesn't think Politi will write an article that citing anonymous sources that in which the slant of the story lays the entire blame for the whole thing on Hermann? There's almost no chance whatsoever that he won't do that, or something just like that, because he's an immoral, talentless hack who can always be counted on to put his petty personal grudges before his journalistic ethics.
