what is up with our run game? one or two yards at most. no burst by RBs

Defense isn't getting much of a rest

----
To be honest our run game was not really good last year versus the better big 10 teams, or at least physical big ten teams...games like the North Carolina game last year gave us a false sense of where we are

People don't like investing in failing ventures. It isn't a surprise that donations started to rise when GS started winning.

The state/school need to invest a lot more and run the program in a much more professional way if they want to keep raising funds.

Horseshat. $ are what it's going to take to get the elements in place. Until then, lower your expectations.

I'm with you Cali but just don't see the state or our residents ever really supporting the flagship university. Can we say that about any other state ? , sad.

Don't be so sure on Kansas.... Flood needed to be gone last year..

Question is who you can afford out there... and also afford to pay Flood off..

You should find out what Zook's up to these days... the guy can recruit at least

Good to see you aren't pretending to be a Rutgers fan after you got outed.

While I want to see rettig he is not the cure for all our offensive issues. And that's not addressing the D that got worse as the half progressed. Both lines are getting dominated.

I didn't know that losing a football game means that the state hates its flagship. This is a very educational board.

Outed .. lol ? I'm a Rutgers and PSU alum... I can have an opinion that this program had no business joining the B1G... exposed it exactly for what it was.

It seems to be a Northeast thing.

Indeed. Negativity, apathy, and cynicism aren't great for college sports programs.

My wife went to USC. It is very refreshing to have that in my sports watching life.

You are not getting it. The $ need to come from the private sector, i.e. alumni and boosters. Not from the state. That'll never happen.

You have said you were a RU alum, but I am not sure if I believe it... Anyway, we all knew that it would be tough to make quick headway in league..... If you really are an alum, give us a-break.... We don't need the constant insults, we know when we are bad.....

The school doesn't have the resources to make key changes. I hate to beat the medical school merger to death but right now that is literally absorbing every penny available. Trenton cutting state appropriations did not help either.

USC is a private university.

So? UCLA isn't. There fans are optimistic, fun, and have things to cheer for. They believe they can. The NE has a ton of cynical people. I think it is the weather.

it is not only about football and we are the only football team to rep the B!g 10 by beating ALL FIVE of the out of conference teams we played. YOU GUYS JUST LOST TO TEMPLE..remember last week?

Yeah we're sucking it tonight... go take a shower...

Doesn't look like it now, and against N Carolina Hicks And Martin looked great, as an example... James is good, but our running game is mediocre big 10

Eh. Cal is historically pretty bad at football.

I like the weather up here, but I will admit that it's not for everyone.

This is on the coaching staff. The defense has clearly not been prepared for anything other than a base formation and has been beat for big gains in several simple misdirection plays. They will play Lavs all year just like Nova with Rettig as his Dodd.
