Why is your Ohio State friend rooting for Penn State over RU? Isn't OSU your supposed "rival" lol
There ain't a chance in hell that I'm missing this Rutgers win. The victory recitation of on the banks as 99,000 leave is disbelief and dismay will be priceless ....

OSU isn't our rival, they are Michigan's. We don't have a rival. He had an awesome time that weekend at Penn State (we took in a hockey game too) and he said PSU is now his second favorite team.
Well, considering he rooted for OSU the entire game last year and spent the entire weekend in the RV lot surrounded by PSU fans while he wore his OSU gear, I doubt he is too worried about it. He's from Ohio and I didn't see anyone treat him poorly. Then again, maybe his Ranger sweatshirt had something to do with that. Doubtful though.

He has only been to one other CFB in his life and that was an OSU scrub game when he was in HS. The atmosphere for that OSU game was one of the best there has been over the past few years. His wife went to MSU and he went to East Lansing for the OSU game a few weeks later and he said he was actually kind of embarassed for the MSU fans because OSU fans took over the stadium and actually did the OH - IO chant. He said he couldn't believe the difference in venues.

We don't. We had a nice rivalry with PITT back in the day but haven't had one since joining the B1G. It certainly isn't OSU.

The only people who think PSU and OSU are rivals are delusional PSU fans. I live in OH. No one over here gives a crap about PSU - we are a complete afterthought.
Similar history and tradition? That's funny. OSU has eight national championships including two in the past 15 years. Penn State has two total and has been relevant once since the 1990s.
That's pretty amusing when you have to defend PSU from one of its fans? So both schools dont have similar histories and Tradition? What are you like 17 years old or something? Both schools have multiple NC's, both are top 10 all time wins, both are top 5 for producing all time NFL players, both recruit against each other in the same recruiting field but they arent rivals, that's funny !!!
Please expand on what your definition of a rival is I would love to be educated? Maybe you think a school can only have one rival? You sound like an OSU fan, I'm pretty certain that OSU has a healthy respect for Penn State, the harsher the vitriol the more one fears a foe. You should know better !!!

I'm not trashing my own school, I'm just stating my opinion. PSU doesn't even exist on OSU's radar right now and they certainly aren't considered a rival. I have a ton of Buckeye friends and we are a nice little program to them. Very similar to how many PSU fans view Rutgers.

Up until Joe got old starting in 2000 PSU had the upper hand in the all-time series so what are you talking about? Now that a level playing field is soon approaching lets see how the OSU- PSU series plays out? You know damn well an "old" Joe Paterno was over his head, now that we have competent young coaches let's see what happens?

Jesus, now you sound like a Michigan fan blaming RichRod and Hoke for their struggles. I'm not saying that it couldn't possibly be a rivalry in the future (doubtful) but it sure as heck isn't now.
