I know that there are already several threads open, but I think that Flood needs to start using this guy as a recruiting tool to get some other top recruits especially WR's and OL. Which WR would not want to play for a pocket passer who is a pass first guy. JG and Haskins would be good as well, but a pass first QB would help the WR a lot more than a guy who would run the ball. This point must be emphasized to every OL and WR recruit.

While the general idea is right, unlike some people on this board recruits REALLY care about stars, especially their own. So even though we know Russo is better than a 2 star that's what may deter a top 17 year old WR or OL

Geeze...Flood needs to lay low and squash any more great publicity this kid gets until he signs in February. Keep the hype going and Notre Dame will come calling in the eleventh hour. I am only half kidding.

Aren't you a PSU fan? You should be more concerned that Franklin's whole recruiting strategy is based on stars and not production.

I think we're better off if Flood just concentrates on selling the program. Otherwise if Russo blows up big and ends up committing elsewhere, then what would you say to those recruits?

NY Rangers and NY Giants is the origin of the handle that I have used in some variation for years. I am a fan always and rarely a hater or name caller in cyber space. A positive life is a more healthy life. Being human however, it is more likely I would call a moron one to his face, than from a keyboard. We all have our faults. Like Zappa, I have interest and many good friends and family with ties to both schools but understand that this is a foreign concept to the majority who post here. I attended neither college, but did get 100% of my education through grad school, in the Garden State. Reading the comments and views on this board is far more intriguing than any other to me. Kind of like observing the strange and exotic from behind the safety of plate glass window and peering into how the world I grew up in, has evolved......or dissolved. Love the diversity of equally intelligent folks in the real world as well as dreamland.

His results in the E11 should help in landing a couple of the "big time" WRs. But, I'm happy with the guys that already committed. It would be nice to have a 4-5* QB but production is more important than star power. Plus, we have to admit Flood can ID talent, Russo was/is a two star recruit that he offered.

How is he still a 2 star by rivals ?

Because they didn't make him a 3 yet

Russo said he would be doing this when he committed. I don't know how many stars he will end up with, but being invited to the elite11 finals as one of the top QB's in the country should carry a lot of weight with prospective recruits.

He was looking good in his Elite11 interview rocking his Rutgers hat. The interviewer actually asked him about this and he said he was friends with Nasier Upshur and 2 other PA guys that he would be trying to recruit.

And obviously the NJ guys who are still thinking over their options have to love the fact that if they choose Rutgers they will have one of the Top 18 QB's in the COUNTRY throwing to them.
