Oh, good. Wake kinda sucks, right?

Maybe we have a shot here.

I'm actually very cool with this. While Wake doesn't have a huge pedigree, they are a name program and we don't have a history of playing them (that I'm aware of). I kind of see the cross-conference challenges as an opportunity to play someone different, as opposed to a time when you want to run into an old conference opponent.

Very happy...this is exactly the type of challenge the program needs...loving how the schedule is shaking out...probably our best ever...whether being in the Big 10 or Edddie or Julie gets credit...its a long time coming

I think we play St. John's in the B10-BE challenge. Wasn't that announced not to long ago?

I think we know this so far...

at George Washington
Seton Hall
Vegas tourney....Creighton....I think Umass and Georgia are also in it
Monmouth
Howard
Central Conn St
Central Arkansas
FDU
Wake Forest...ACC/Big 10 challlenge
at St Johns....Big East/Big 10 challenge

admittedly I was very down on the program but with the late flurry of quality signings and the workable schedule its going to be keep things interesting. I love that Louisville game is off the table, no need for that

That's a decent mix of games.

Yeah, the last Louisville game was enough.

Interesting opponent in Wake Forest....think Danny Manning is their HC....Last time I saw Wake in person was when Tim Duncan played for them at the Meadowlands in the NCAA Regionals back in 95 or 96 or so.....

BK - thanks and hope all is well with you and Janet...:)

So looks like we'll either play Clemson or UMass in the 2nd game in Vegas.....

What happens in Vegas...stays in Vegas....

Not sure whose going to guard Tim Duncan is what a diehard asked me last night.....I told him I was more worried about Randolph Childresss going for 30 on us.

This pre-conference schedule should eliminate any late December pre-January thought of "when does conference play start"....more importantly, I also think this schedule gives the roster a faster learning curve OR more of a chance to see what we have, while improving at the same time. You could not say that in years past. I know people may not buy into this, but I really believe that in past years, RU basketball and football (and the players and coaches) also look at the schedule the same way some fans do....and this schedule and Vegas eliminates that fear factor.

I also think it brings a greater focus to the offseason and everything that we saw in the football season. The depth got exposed tested and more importantly, RU finished with a kick at the end of the season winning at Maryland and beating UNC.

For hoops, I think each game brings something to that table with this set up....And I think RU's best basketball last year was Vandy & UVA at Barclay and at Clemson with 3 games in 4 nights....This schedule will force kids to be ready in September and first practice in mid October, so there isn't any reason to watch the freshmen and newcomers perform.

I saw Wake against us----not great----bad on defense----had a decent big but I think he was a senior.

Manning did a good job at Tulsa and I thought he was a very good hire for a program that has really slipped.

I have mixed thoughts about this schedule....and to me it really comes down to how Jordan manages his roster/players.

I hope he doesn't choose being competitive over teaching kids (with PT discipline) to play the game right.

I still believe Jordan made a decision in OOC last year (Vandy?) where in game 1 of a 3 games in 4 day stretch he played his players 40 minutes and got the much needed win, but possibly hurt the team long term.

Wake never really sucks...just not good.

umm, what? Wake was pretty good for about 20 years from 1990 to 2010. They've been pretty bad the past five years though.

In fact, they made as many NCAA Tournaments as Maryland did during that time span.

Its a nice feature to have new OOC teams with some name recognition visit the RAC as part of B1G membership.
