See ya. I think df was recruited by tulsa at one point but i don't know if they've been going after him as hard as us. Still, in an aspect it would help. He would be competing with etou for a spot if he went there. Funny how things work out. I don't know if we get elikson and df, but if we get df we're a lot better team next year.

At this point isn't either Ellison or Freeman not both? I believe after Laurent and KSU transfer we only have one schollie for next year. Am I right on this?

So Luc will be 24 when he plays his next college game for Tulsa in November 2016.

At least RU can stop lying about the date of birth of one of its players now that Luc is gone.

Etou decided to leave, his choice.
What he does doesn't concern me one bit now, except I hope he earns his degree and has an injury free career at Tulsa.

If Freeman can't beat Junior out for a spot then he is not the kind of player worth having anyway. I don't think Freeman would be conserned about losing a spot to him. Junior is an awful basketball player and was a huge part of the team's lack of success. He was athletic so could rebound, but he could not pass, dribble or shoot. All important basketball qualities.

You guys will absolutely love Freeman. I watched a bunch of film on him. Loves to play on the front corner of the paint and will go from one corner to another, not camped outside in the middle of nowhere like many of our SF of the past, and does the little things really well like boxing out. Etou may have a higher cieling, but this kid became a 4 star player because he outworks everyone else.

I liked Etou's rebounding but he spent way too much time standing out by the perimeter. I rarely remember him ever driving to the basket. There was one game I believe he ran down the middle and got a beautiful pass from Myles for a game winner. There was the game vs FDU in 2013 that he was open under the basket for a potential game winner but JJ Moore took and missed a jumper near the foul line. I know most every player has a few flaws in their game. I don't think Junior had a great handle. He rarely dribbled the ball especially going toward the basket. He did fight hard and get some put backs and he played very good defense which Eddie raved about saying he was better than most NBA players who played SF on defense. I just feel that we need a dimension at SF that we didn't have which is the threat to put the ball on the floor and drive to the basket. Hopefully Jonathan Laurent can give us that threat. It just might open up a few other things on the floor for us. Maybe either Johnson can do that too. I know the one recruited this year is supposed to be a good driver. The Johnson who sat out I think is better known for his outside shooting. Hopefully we can be a bit more exciting on offense. There are many unknowns. Diallo is another. Can he be a true shot blocker and can he score? Can Foreman play major minutes at PF? I know we need another PF besides Foreman. Maybe Diallo can be that guy at times. I am looking forward to see how the team develops.

A trade that I will gladly take. Etou is talented, though, so hopefully he shows it out in Tulsa.

Can we not bump old threads to throw into people's faces? We've all been wrong and don't think it would be fun to bring back things we said in the past unless its a bet or something necessary. I can't blame people for being pessimistic nowadays

And I'm happy be wrong as I said in the Freeman commit post. Ready to be be served my plate of crow.

One plate is enough.
I've have had to eat my share of Crow myself , I think we all have.
Kudos to those who are willing to admit they were wrong about something and accept the crow gracefully.

really? I don't get this post. Why? because I didn't think Freeman would come? Big deal I was wrong, Its not like you haven't been wrong before, don't see the need for nonsense like this with board police posts

I don't people have a problem with posters being wrong on any one subject. The problem, like in life, is when someone comes on and posts a response in a "He's all knowing" type of thing. It's those posters I LOVE seeing eat crow. Don't berate or give the end all to a thread as if your right and everybody is wrong. THIS is not directed at ANYONE in this thread, just a general statement by me.

Étou's transfer news gets the full Deadspin treatment today. After this drops off the radar we'll have to wait a while for them to dredge up some other damaging "news" about good ole RU. At least Tulsa and not RU was in the headline this time.

Old news when no new player scandal to report is the reason why Etou was given a second helping of coverage over his age, AAU team and other old issues that were covered before and put to rest..
Deadspin is reaching for news with their Etou transfer article and using old news because of the lack of new news that might grab some attention for them.
