Going to try to go Friday. If lots of people are coming up, maybe we should do some kind of "meet and greet" for lunch. Or as I would call it, a "meat and greet".

Mr. Earl and I will be there and Micco and the good fireman will probably also be there so there there are four for lunch and the more the merrier.

http://www.oklahomausawrestling.com/page/show/1094252-juniorThis should be the Oklahoma teams Red and Blue at the event this weekend.
Oklahoma still has not released their starters for free style but have 23 on the GR team which is starting today. Illinois and Minnesota have not yet released their freestyle team members but are in the Greco. Surprisingly New Jersey has no greco team entered which may indicate they are not in the FS either. Georgia is another team not yet announcing their free style entrants. There are a total of 385 entrants in FS to date with 30 teams from 23 states. California and New York not entered in the tournament and Pennsylvania has entered but most of their studs are not in it with exception of Sammy Sasso. Pa usually opts to go east and not enter a top team in the Jrs.
Oklahoma wrestlers entered in the Greco just now starting:
100 Jackson Cockrell
100 Cruz Aguilar
106 Studd Morris
113 T J Long
113 Riley Weir
120 Cameron Picklo
126 Reese Witcraft
126 Jet Taylor
132 Jack Karstetter

Oklahoma lost to Kansas Blue 30-33. Just followed it on Trackwrestling dashboard and I did not see any of the wrestling but I know we lost two penalty points. Match was decided when Jack Karstetter lost by criteria 6-6 at 138. If we had won that match, the final match was won by Brik Filippo 11-0 tf which would have been the difference.

The pivotal match in the dual was Cameron Picklo v. Dylan D'emilio. D'emilio is ranked #12 on the Flo big board and is a former Jr. world team member placing 5th. Picklo was leading the match 12-4 with about 1 minute to go when he was pinned. This was an 8 point swing.

The Oklahoma Outlaws red team roster was released on track and in addition to the wrestlers that were on the Greco team, Rhett Golowenski at 120, Daton Fix at 132 and Kaden Gfeller at 138 are on the freestyle team. I will be there in person Friday so I will not be able to post results. It would be a good time to come to the duals to see Daton and Kaden wrestle their last matches as Oklahoma High schoolers. Freestyle duals start at 8am.

Oklahoma Red finished 4th overall. Daton Fix was unscored on and Gfeller lost only one match and that was to highly ranked Ben Freeman who he had previously defeated. Good job by Oklahoma wrestlers and especially Fix and Gfeller. I enjoyed the tournament but had to leave during the Missouri match this morning to attend a family reunion. Saw a lot of great wrestling and made some new friends and saw some old friends. Heard some good news regarding our Oklahoma State club team coaching staff but I guess I will let this be officially announced before commenting. Great news for the club team and for OK State recruiting in my opinion.

We lost a tough match to the champions. Three or four bouts came down to the final seconds with Minnesota winning all of them. Also Taylor was ahead when he was pinned. Definitely a bout everyone felt we we could or should have won. We seemed as a team flat vs Ohio after that.

Spill it Obe! Just kidding, I'll wait for that good news.:)

Catching up on some of yesterday's action. As Obe posted earlier, Oklahoma Red finished fourth to Ohio. Minnesota defeated Illinois for first.

Also, Oklahoma Blue defeated Indiana Blue 61-7 and finished first in that Purple/Grey Pool.

Oklahoma Red defeated Missouri 58-9
Fix won by tech 10-0 at 132
G won by fall at 138 (arm bar)
Bear won by fall at 220 (over OU recruit Jake Boyd, with a headlock counter of an underhook)
Jet and Bahl did not wrestle

Minnesota Blue defeated Oklahoma Red 40-26
Jet lost by fall at 126 (pancaked while leading 7-6)
Fix won by fall at 132 (inside trip against MN recruit Brent Jones)
G won by tech 14-3 at 138 (against MN recruit Jake Bergeland, #16 by Flo at 138)
Bahl lost 8-6 at 170 (in a competitive match against MN recruit Jake Allar, #25 on Flo 2017 Big Board)
Bear lost by tech 16-6 (to St Cloud St recruit Noah Ryan, #14 by Flo at 220)

Ohio defeated Oklahoma Red 40-23
Fix won by tech 10-0 at 132 (against Brown recruit Hunter Kosco, #10 by Flo at 126)
G won by criteria 1-1 (against VTech recruit Mitch Moore, #18 on Flo 2018 Big Board)
Bahl lost by tech 10-0 at 170 (against Cleveland St recruit Georgio Poulas)
Bear lost 10-6 at 220 (to Missouri recruit, #37 on Flo 2017 Big Board)
Jet did not wrestle

My 5 cents...
Fix is pretty good at wrestling. Seriously though, he looked to be trying some new things - more head snaps, a bow and arrow, and that baseball slide single that Mark Hall does (maybe I'm just imagining that one).
G is really really good. And he will be very tough on top in folk. Like to see him put on some good weight and head up to 149/157.
Our other recruits did pretty well and will improve a lot in the room. Bear is unheralded but he's tough and pretty athletic. A sleeper?

Congrats to our recruits and their fellow Oklahoma competitors.
