So who is the source? who is the author??? not enough guts to sign their name!

Guess it really doesn't matter at this point, given what happened in the draft it was was evidently a shared opinion among those doing the selecting.

What was surprising though was how appreciative he was to get picked at all.

Couple observations:
I looked up his QBR and he was only 17th overall so by the basic statistics, not a top-rounder.
I think what he has chosen to show us of his personality, and the possibility of dad hanging around, made him a risky team leader.
It's easy to fall far fast at QB because only a few teams each year are looking for a potential new starter so each time those 2 or 3 pass on you, you're down another round.

The tweet had nothing to do with his son. It's from 2018 when Cleveland had the #1 pick. They had won one game over the past two years and four games over three years. They have more losses than any other team over the last two decades. So, frankly, maybe he was right.

The tweet you posted was from Deion, not Shedeur, so not only is it 7 years out of date, it's not even from the QB who was drafted by Cleveland this year, but by his father.

Fine, here is something from the past few weeks not a few years ago (I just posted that to show Leopards don't change their stripes)

"That assessment was true, but it was severely sugarcoated. Imagine Terrell Owens, his father, Chad Johnson, and Jim McMahon multiplied by ten thousand. This individual wore so much cologne to the interview assessment that the coach suggested they 'go for a walk' because he was concerned the individual might faint from the overpowering scent. He wore headphones around his neck with music playing throughout the entire interview and brought his entire entourage to the building.

In my 33 years in the NFL, I have never encountered a prima donna of this caliber.

When the coach asked where he envisioned himself in five years, his reply was, 'Mayor of the city, followed by a loud laugh and clapping.

His quarterback skills are mediocre at best; if he were playing in the SEC, we wouldn't even be having this conversation because he wouldn't have been a starter.

And let's say, hypothetically, someone does draft him, and they lose their first four or five games. Do you think an organization wants to hear him complain, with his father screaming racism or critiquing the coaching staff on ESPN about why his son is a subpar player? No team needs or wants that distraction. The few defensive players who saw him wanted us to draft him solely so they could knock him out in practice.

If anyone drafts him, my guess is it will be the Cowboys, with Jerry Jones doing a favor for Deion. You would think having a Hall of Fame father would lead to advice against acting like a jerk, but he's not a team player; he's a 'me' player. He's a young kid, and young kids make mistakes, but all this talk about 'God's plan' with the Sanders entourage-well, God's plan just humbled that young man and showed him his behavior stinks like the rest of us. My prediction is he'll be a backup and end up another Johnny Manziel. If there's one person to blame for this, it's his father, who still hasn't learned anything at 57 years old, walking into Jackson State, then Colorado, dancing around like MC Hammer, trying to put the spotlight on himself during pre-games and halftimes-he's a total jerk off."

Well…massive entitlement cost him three to four rounds and a landing pad in Cleveland. I guess it all evens out. Hopefully this isn’t another Johnny ******* (Manziel) situation and he has a decent career.
Is it possible he just isn’t that good?

Quinn Ewers was projected as a first round pick coming into the season. Went in 7th round and cost himself at least $4M by entering the draft.

Kids don’t always do the smart thing. Life’s lessons.

He probably isn’t. That coupled with massive entitlement and an overbearing dad spells “RED” for a lot of teams. But it hasn’t stopped a massive amount of people from claiming the NFL colluded against him unfairly for whatever reasons they have. Without those people, this isn’t even a story.

The last thing any team wants is a potential Kellen Winslow.

This quote that circulated social media was confirmed to be made up by a frequent fake news troll account.

Not that it isn't playing off the underlying truth. Hucksters like Steven A Smith who have tried to make this a ridiculous racial issue have tried to portray Shedeur like he is just "cocky and brash" and perhaps has an intense father. It's obviously far more than that. This is a quarterback who trashes his teammates and linemen in public on a daily basis. Who is a noted locker room cancer. Who is the very opposite of a trustworthy team leader. He's stated little interest in playing for many teams or in playing along in any situation that doesn't cater to his exact self-obsessed preferences.

On top of that, he isn't even "cocky and brash," or at least not in the way we mean when we talk about athletes. Going out onto midfield and giving a "suck it" gesture to the oposing sideline after you've dropped 50 on them is cocky and brash. Calling yourself the double greatest when you win fight after fight is cocky and brash. Shedeur just points to his expensive watch. What happens on the field doesn't matter, just that he's rich.

Doesn't sound like somebody you want to entrust your career as a coach and GM to by investing in to make a franchise quarterback unless their on-field play is undeniable.

Just thought I’d pound my chest on this. It was an easy call…

Do we think Coach Sanders will resign before the season ends? His health issues will be an easy out for both parties. Hoping the program will be in disarray when they come tonEvanston next season.

Good. NU should kick the wheels on Sean Lewis as out next head coach if their season deflates and he becomes more… available.

Kafka and Lewis would offer two intriguing potential head coaches to turn the program around.

But can they sell like Gary Barnett?
Sean Lewis and San Diego State football are having a good season. With all of the HC openings he will probably be getting offers but the Aztecs are looking to retain him. The Aztec defense has been top rank this season and the offense has come around. (The Aztecs golden years were under Don Coryell before he created Air Coryell with the Chargers.) The Aztecs are struggling with attendance even with the benefit of playing in a new stadium and having a long winning streak. Kafka would be such fantastic get for NU but don’t see him leaving the pros at this point for NU. Just too many better opportunities ahead for him.

If I look back and think why Deion failed and why he didn’t, I think most of the discussion around him initially was really a debate about the portal. Should a coach openly transfer out entire rosters and transfer in entire rosters and just buy players with NIL? Deion seemed like he was boldly embracing the slot aggressive form of a new strategy.

except… literally every other coach embraced the same thing at the same time, and they all did it with better scouting ability. Three years ago it seemed like what Deion was doing was very aggressive and cutting edge when actually… it’s just whatever everybody was already about to do, he was just louder about it. And apparently his flash hasn’t actually translated into a bigger war chest than others.

Well, Sean Lewis and the Aztecs are getting drubbed on the road by Hawaii 31-6 in a late game halfway thru the 3rdQ. So Coach Lewis may not be in as much demand after this loss. Somewhat surprised the SDSU defense folded so badly in this game, they had been among the best defenses statistically though against weaker Mountain West competition.

Hopefully Mich will fold against us like the Aztecs did against Hawaii! Don’t think Mich has been very impressive this season. They have dropped down a level compared to OSU, OR and now Indy. We have a good shot against UM if we can score like we did in the first half against USC. Go Cats!

Indy escaped on an incredible play. Winners find ways to win. It will be interesting to see if Indy can sustain fheir win streak to the championship game with OSU.

Can’t blame the refs on this drubbing by Hawaii. Don’t know if the long flight had an impact but the Aztecs looked flat and Hawaii players kicked *** and ran over the Aztecs in that game. Have to think the travel costs and impact of travel on the players would be sufficient reason for teams to avoid the flight across the Pacific. San Diego State will be avoiding future travel to Hawaii for contests when they join the “new” PAC12 and while Hawaii joins the Mountain West Conference as a full member.

Board members have commented on increased travel costs for BigTen members as a result of expansion. It would be interesting to see the impact of travel for BT members as a result of expansion to include West Coast schools. How much does it cost teams like Rutgers and MD to travel west to play the new West Coast members. As some have observed, the costs must be brutal, including those costs for “minor” sports to travel west. It must be draining BT member budgets and must be a factor for members to go after the equity deal to inject new money into BT member budgets. Gotta pay the players too!

Was just wondering. The travel across that many time zones would really impact the players. And we saw the impact of the refs so was just wondering

As far as your other issues regarding travel costs in the BIG. For FB and Mens BB, the travel costs not likely that much of an issue for BIG programs. For us, for example, other than close programs such as IL, IA, WIS and Purdue or IN for us, I would imagine most everything else is a flight (chartered) and once you are on the flight, many of the costs similar no matter how far it is. Hotels, logistics and busses at both ends and on and on.

For the lesser sports, it is likely a nightmare. Travel costs are a huge issue for their limited budgets

Travel costs are not a material issue for football and basketball, nor does selling equity make a difference to them. It WOULD help pay down some big debts a few schools have, which might include the House paybacks in the minds of some. I continue to think the GOR extension was also quietly driving a ton of it for some schools, but that’s just a guess based on hearing no other pressing reasons to sell equity when cheap debt is available.

Small sports, yeah, probably hurts, any little thing hurts.

He’s 3-8 now. If he loses one more game this year and goes 1-11 next year, he’ll be back in your good graces.

No juice, all squeeze. A selfish prick who only cares about himself and his sons. Hated him at FSU, can’t stand him now. He’s a phony and a fraud. He’ll use his health as a chance to save face and exit gracefully.
