Tyus looking good for Ohio U.

Amazing that a team NU beat this year is playing for a championship. (Even MAC)

Finshed with 150+ yards. Methinks he could have helped NU this season.....

100% would have helped NU. I’m confused when I hear that Lujan liked a power running scheme yet Himon was our 1B back.he would’ve still split carries with Porter so maybe that was the issue.

Probably a change of pace re Himon? Porter struggled with injuries this season. I suspect he wasn’t 100% even when back. But even so, Himon had far fewer carries: just 8 in the last three games combined.

Those guys were also active in the passing game so that’s likely another part of Himon being in there — he had targets but not many receptions. Porter had a ton. When your QB isn’t good you need options to check down to.

I agree that Tyus would have helped, but is problem is that he was very slow. MAC defenses including LBs are a lot slower — especially laterally — so that undoubtedly impacted his success.

Tyus gained 151 yards against the same MAC defense that held NU to 150 total rushing yards.

His leg turnover was slow but his straight line speed was probably fine and his power makes up for it.

Tyus ran for over 200 yards against a Syracuse defense that beat ranked teams Miami, Ga Tech and UNLV.
