What time does west lot open for tailgating Friday night?

The website says 4 hours before the game.

This wI’ll be my first year parking there, and I just wonder how the logistics work. My parking pass has a specific “seat,” but does that mean you have a specific spot? That seems like it would be crazy, if that were the case. The West lot seems so crazy, how early do you need to be there to avoid the crazy and get in?

Probably around 1.5 to 2 hours for most of the games. Friday might be somewhat different as MSU is generally a big draw as they have 80K Chicago alums, it is first game, BIG game and at night so all tailgating will likely be before game as it will be close to midnight when the game ends. I would say for this one I would get there two hours or more before. Added advantage that you get daylight, an actual chance to settle in and tailgate. You might get away with 1.5 but if you get to an hour or less, it will likely be a mess.

You did not say which lot. I do not believe you have a specific spot unless it is handicapped It would make it a nightmare to direct people to their spots

Probably? Why post if you don’t know the answer? The lots open 4 hours prior to kickoff. The time is listed on the pass itself…clearly states “Parking Lots Open 4 Hours Prior to Kickoff”.

I think he was responding to my post on how much in advance do I need to be there before it gets too crazy, and not to the previous post asking when the lots open.

I am in the West lot this year.

In another post I had indicated that in the past that the lots opened 4 hrs before. And I responded that because I had not seen my parking passes yet . This was in response a person asking about how early the they had to get there to avoid the crazy and get in without too much difficulty. And to that, I suggested that normally it would be 1.5-2 hrs but with the special circumstances of this game, 2 hrs might be a better target

We are in South Golf again this year.
Any specific recommendations on coming in from the east or west with the bridge construction on Central?

Makes sense now. Thanks for clarifying.
