I like the Grave Diggers. Has the lunch pale connotation to it. A certain spooky surprise Freddy Krueger aura to it. Sends the message It’s a defense that makes opposing offenses disappear, then die.

Venting my recurring and unresolved Dark Ages nightmares.

I vote for PURPLE CRUSH

However another side of me likes Purple Haze which reflects the fact that my undergrad days at NU were 1967-1971 when Jimi Hendrix was popular (for youngsters who were not yet born then Purple Haze was Jimi's most well-known song). As I recall during that time frame there was a tongue-in-cheek vote (maybe via the Daily Northwestern?) to change the team name from Widcats to Purple Haze and I believe Purple Haze won.

Probably won't fly with the PC police, but I like grave diggers. We are often perceived as nice guys (which we are), so something with a little attitude and noir is good.

Too bad I missed the game. I’m scheduled to work on BIG championship game day as well. Things I must do to put food on the table.. 😔

It’s really quite remarkable. We have very few guys on our starting D with high recruiting rankings. In facts, our highest ranked D recruits aren’t even the big contributors. Fisher, Joseph, Adeboware were all the lowest 3* rating coming out of HS.

Well for this week it was the “H 5-0 Task Force” as the Cats went 5-0 as Hankwitz and his motley crew schemed to solve the attempted crime of the week preventing the Badgers from stealing a win and ended up locking them up.

What about the "Breaking Bad" Defense? Since Hank looks like Walter White, this D seems to break apart any attempting offense, and they helped break the BAD that was 2019???
