Can’t blame them if they are questioning how Cincinnati got #7 with their close win Saturday and both teams are undefeated with arguably comparable competition.

Funny how we can see things so differently. I thought he stood up for his team while being very diplomatic. I was impressed, but your take was obviously otherwise.

Maybe BYU can pay the Big Ten a bunch of money to let them play Wisconsin this week? (They probably would have to pay a matching sum to Nebraska, too.)

I am not a BYU fan at all but I thought their coach handled himself very well in the interview. Just my perspective.

Cincys schedule has been much tougher. The AAC is pretty solid. Cincy beat at least one ranked team and will play another in a couple weeks. Beating UCF in Orlando is no small feat.

I agree. He was great on that bit, ESPN wanted him to be pissed off but he was total class. Lots of respect for him and his team.

Puts our whining about disrespect to shame :)
Did not think there was any whining whatsoever. If anything it was about the same tone as Fitz’s “How About Those Fighting Reese Davises....”

The backstory is that Sunday night it was leaked that UW and BYU were in talks to play. The narrative developed on Twitter that BYU was not willing to play - assuming they were scared. Reality was that the PAC 12 requires that if two PAC 12s are available they HAVE to play - too bad, so sad for any scheduled non-conf. It was all but guaranteed that Utah v. ASU would get cancelled (it was today) and so there was no game for UW to even offer BYU. They’ll be playing Utah.

I thought BYU was too low but I only really think they have a case to be ahead of Iowa State and then maybe Georgia. Maybe Oklahoma. So at best 11th, at worst 13th. I can’t be that mad about 14th.

It’s more the ridiculousness of Cincy being 7th and BYU 7 spots behind that. You can’t give them credit for beating a ranked SMU and not credit BYU for dismantling a ranked Boise. Neither are ranked now.

Oh well. This is an NU board so STOKED on our ranking. Win and we’re in, baby.

That is the point. The PAC 12 recently approved OOC games with the stipulation that if a second PAC team become available that game had to be played and any contingency plan with an OOC (so, BYU) opponent be off. BYU was aware that would happen knowing Utah vs. ASU was 99% chance heading towards cancellation.

There was no drama until it was spun by some West Coast media that BYU was ducking the game. Kalani’s comments tonight were partly fueled by that but he is too classy to go into the nitty gritty.

He had a reasonable beef. If Cincinnati belongs in top 10 hard to argue with them being there. Peronally I believe they belong around 10-12 (both of them) Dificulty of schedule really not there

Both belong around 10-12. Cincinnati doesn't belong at 7 and BYU at 14 is too low
