Pretty good article about it:Apparently the Colorado alumni are upset about the way MT lied to them before leaving? I guess kharma's a ***** (remember Gary Barnett)
“My first thought in my head was ‘Damn, those poor kids.’ He lied to those kids and their families. I feel bad for the Michigan State folks. I don’t think you have somebody with good character there.”Pretty good article about it:

Barnett was going home. He came from CU and probably was the only place he would have gone (reportedly turned down Texas, UCLA, and Notre Dame). And Rick Taylor basically helped pack his bags before he even decided. If you're going to blame anyone for Barnett leaving, blame Rick Taylor.
And, you know, the guy who actually left after an 0-8 B1G season.
I loved Gary and have always appreciated the miracle he made here. Certainly, he left some talent here, but I think the Wilson-Walker spread offense was more responsible for 2000 than Gary.Yes, and right before all the top recruits he secured after the Rose Bowl run were ready to hit their prime. Table was set for his successor.
