Heard something along the lines of “Northwestern shocks Wisconsin” during the Iowa/PSU game and it kinda pissed me off, to be honest. There’s nothing “shocking” about Northwestern beating quality teams, as evidenced by their performance against Michigan the past 2 years.

We seem to thrive as dogs but the sticky narrative of NU not being competitive gets old. It stems from a two decade period known as the Dark Ages where NU set a standard for futility.

Nebraska has the second best offense in the B1G, IMO. I see better days ahead in Lincoln.

I think part of the reason the UNL-NU rivalry is good and enjoyable is because their fans weren't around in the Dark Ages and actually see us for who we are - a consistent 8-9 game winner with the chance to lose to anyone or beat anyone on any given day. A lot of others still want to see us as a team they should beat, even when everything on the field suggests we're a better team.

Appreciate this. My family and friends from Michigan and Michigan State don't understand why I just shake my head when they use phrases like "trap game" to refer to playing Northwestern, and how we're every other Big Ten teams' Homecoming guest. But respect is earned, not given. A long way to go before we can even think about Indy.
