Wednesday with a real game this week...No M0 0N in sight...

Cats 17
Skunk bears 24

...sorry, but I don't think the Cats will pull this one off. I think Notre Dame is a better chance.

After Larkin's retirement, it sort of feels like we're playing with house money.

Brain is telling me: Michigan 38 - Northwestern 17

Heart is telling me: Northwestern 24 - Michigan 23

Feels like the kind of game where we'll either just roll over quickly or play inspired the whole way. All comes down to how the OL sets the tone and holds up through the game.

I'll give Fitz and the team the benefit of the doubt and go with NU 24 - UM 23.

Similar game to PSU last year. I’d be shocked if the offense scored a TD without Larkin.

Before WickerTurk predicted we would lost by 20

Michigan 42
Us 13

After:

Us: 17
Michigan: 16

Michigan scores on their first possession and gets a safety on our first possession. WickerTurk starts counting his winnings, Michigan gets a bit overconfident, and it all goes downhill from there. We score 17 unanswered into halftime and Fox is delighted that this isn't another Nebby boatrace for the national audience, Michigan gets a special teams TD in the 3rd, but decides not to chase points and go for 2, which proves to be a costly decision, as our D rules the day and our offense does zip in the second half, but just enough overall...

Last time these two teams met, I predicted Michigan would win 49-0, and unfortunately I was right. Hopefully I'm right again.

UM 24
NU 26

Going totally with my heart on this one. Losing to Akron and beating Michigan would be the most Northwestern-y thing ever, so of course it's going to happen.

Knowing UM’s biggest weakness is over-confidence, Fitz has been playing the long con all season, giving up non-con games to catch Harbaugh at his most vulnerable.
If the plan comes to fruition
NU 20 UM 17
If not
UM 31 NU 10

We will lose. It doesn't matter if it is a stomping or another BS loss like 2012-14. Any loss to Mich sucks. And I will be pissed

I think we show up and keep it close, like PSU's first half last year.
But I don't think we mail it in and give up like against PSU. Therefore, it's going to be close. Going to be a fun game and we shouldn't be upset if we lose. Michigan isn't great so let's not claim a blowout.

Duke + Akron = Miami of Ohio?

Cardiac Cats 28 UM 27.......Cats get late pick to seal it just like the last couple seasons at the end of big wins. This is our season on the line. Fitz will have them fired up.

Turk was right even though he doesnt appear to be following his own wisdom down there in Chicago.

Turk, how do you expect CT to get 1 TD when he isnt the best qb under pressure?
Our offense didnt score 1 pt last year against psu when CT was in there.
I agree with you that michigan isnt that great but their strength is a solid DL.
Even against a mediocre Wisconsin team, his longest drive was only 44 yards until UW played prevent D and coasted when only 4 minutes to go.

Michigan has truly struggled on the road. Not just this year, but last year as well. Their only road victories in the big ten were against Indiana and Purdue, both of which weren't determined until late in the game. The Indiana game went into overtime. I think we are a bit better than Purdue/Indiana. Of course, you never know and that's why they play the game but if we can come out winning the turnover battle then we have a legit chance. Why not?

Too many setbacks for the Cats. I would be shocked if it’s competitive.

UM 45 Cats 13
Even in our losses to Akron and Duke, we at least played hard and kept it close. Michigan isn't that great, especially they haven't done anything special on the road ever since they were undefeated and lost to Iowa back in 2016. I plan on showing up, tailgating, and watching the game. But if you are right and we look like Ned out there then I'm leaving at halftime. I'll go over to the Kentucky Sports Bar on Belmont and watch my buddy's team.

Belief without evidence. Fitz better pull out all the motivational stops for this one. I'm thinking maybe he finds an extra penny laying on the pavement Saturday morning heading to the stadium and that tips the scales in our favor.

Michigan 27, Cats 14. Cats play a possession game as best as they can: each team ends up with about 12 possessions. Cats’ game plan designed to shorten game. Michigan gains about 450 yards, falls short twice in red zone and settles for field goals. Cats gain a pot 320 yards, sustain one full field drive and score on a short field after a turnover. Michigan turns ball over twice, Cats once. Loss of Larkin hi huge as ground game only averages 2.5 to 3 yards a carry.
