The Zips will get at least 4 points. I’m predicting a 6-4 barnburner. Our potent offense scores every point for both teams.

Even you couldn’t argue we were a good team last Saturday. Hopefully that’ll change this Sat
It's reasonable to give a mulligan after Duke after last year. Duke matches up well against us (I made that argument before the game so that isn't hindsight); in some ways they're a tougher match for us than anybody on our schedule except Wisconsin.And some posters will continue to opine that we are a good team no matter how we play on Saturday or what the final score is.
We should have a good team; the stretch starting at Michigan is the real test for this team. I still think we're a 7-8 win team with a spotlight win or two.
Akron will be a 2-3 TD win.
Akron hung in there at Nebraska until the weather got really bad and then they went home. Based on that, I think NU wins this one.

Lots of issues trying to resolve themselves for the Cats. Still I think the program has to be significantly ahead of the Zips. Fitz never runs up a score.

This is where the rubber meets the road. We've got to tread lightly to avoid overlooking them. Otherwise, we will not have a goodyear. Perhaps we can score if we run a wheel route. If it comes down to the end, the defense will have to survive a baptism of fire, stone them at the line of scrimmage, and save the day. If they aren't too tired.

We better come out with a fire under our ***. Could be a long season if we dont comfortably defeat Akron. Then we reboot and call the Michigan game the first game of the season again. Fitz is 11-2 in openers. I havent lost faith in this team yet but I am waiting for someone to provide some electric offensive passion.

Well played, and with the studs on our team we should have sufficient traction to achieve a blowout.
Prior to kickoff, Akron will claim there is a violent electrical storm on the horizon and will refuse to play the game. Flummoxed, Phillips & Fitzgerald offer to play the game on Sunday and house the Akron team at Wrassler's house. Before they are able to make the offer, the Zips board their bus and skeedaddle back to Ohio!
OMG. I didn't even read it correctly the first time. We should have a word play thread to match the Haiku thread. That's fun.
Cats 17. Akron 14. With injuries to O-Line and QB situation, offense is very, very ugly. Board calls for McCall’s head, blaming problems on play calling. Fitz says everyone needs to execute better. Sun comes up in East on Sunday.
Cats win 27-10. It won't be pretty, and the 27 points will be more because Akron's defense will be soft (maybe? hopefully?) than it is about NU being a good offense. Thorson won't play much, but Larkin and Moten will rack up the yards. Nagel will catch 10 passes for under 100 yards.
I think this is just about right. Fitz will run and eat clock and will let the kicker kick field goals. He’ll play the bench late. I’m seeing 2 TDs and 4 FGs for 26. Akron gets a garbage TD to get to 17.
