Selected my seats yesterday . . .

. . . but once you do that, the website doesn't allow you to go back and check on progress with the rest of the seats. I was in Group 2 and I think I'll be happy with my seats, but there are many more of us still waiting in line. I sincerely hope that all of my Wildcat brethren can land seats that they're happy - or at least content - with. Even if you're toward the back of the line, so to speak, I can't imagine too many of us being THAT unhappy with our seats. Some are better than others, of course, but it seems to me there's not a bad seat in the house. The absolute WORST seat in the new Welsh-Ryan will still be closer to the floor than a majority of the seats at the United Center, and at a fraction of the cost (even with the mandatory donations). So good luck, fellas; I hope all of us come away at least reasonably happy with the way this played out.

Agree 100%. Also went yesterday, ended up with 2 in 102 (corner across from the bench). The requirement to not leave a single can be frustrating, but overall am happy. Doing the math: 2 x $400 + $600 (donation) /17 home games this season = $41 per ticket. Although crap precon games “worth” less. Reasonable imo and quality upper deck seats are very reasonably priced.

We go to a 20-game conference season so better games for your money. Also, with ACC challenge, Oklahoma and DePaul on the schedule, that's 13 quality games, at least.

I ended up in 106 but had seriously considered going to lower rows of upper deck. But didn't know what to expect for UD. May change after a year or two. Same story. Only redeeming factor for that $600 donation is that it is also what is needed to get into E or W lot for FB

Me too. Excited for an eventual open house so we can see how all compare to the virtual seat view. I thought another poster suggested the lower bowl seating would be at a steeper angle than old WR. The virtual view looks like they are flatter. I would prefer the same or steeper. I think the upper deck will be a great option but I didn’t trust the virtual to tell how annoying the tinted glass railing would be to the sight lines, especially 1st row.

I'm just glad to hear somebody put as much thought as I did into the virtual view vs. the reality.

I had the same concerns about the 1st row with the tinted glass. But I decided I'd rather have the tinted glass than heads in my way.

We have enough people that we decided to get seats in a couple diffetent areas to hedge our bets. I only wish I could have added a couple of the barstools to have the full experience every year.

It’s the minimum required for “active” football parking points, but the bottom tier. I believe the cutoff was somewhere around 525 in the west lot and 600 in the east lot last year... but wouldn’t be surprised if Tier 2 is required for football parking this year given the home slate.

I am concerned about the impact the glass will have as well. I’m hopeful, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

112, what do you know about those barstool seats? I saw them on the map and wasn't sure what to make of them. Totally forgot to ask my rep about them.

I don't know anything. I just know what I saw on the 3D chart. Looks like they are assigned seats available for purchase.

Buy the seats and I'll bring the flask, NURB.

Wow, booze at NU games. At least the bar crowd will make the numbers seem bigger, as I've never seen a bar that abides by the "maximum allowed".

Wow didn't realize that NU and Indiana were the only two schools that don't sell liquor in their stadiums..
Huh? The article says that 10 of 14 Big 10 school sell beer....

"Purdue is one of 10 schools in the Big Ten that allow alcohol sales at football games"

The article also stats that Indiana and ND are two schools who don't allow liquor sales. No mention of NU and why ND is included is a mystery. Does Illinois allow liquor sales? Nebraska? Io-a? Rutgers?

I've heard nothing about booze being served in the general seating area of the new W-R. Did I miss something?
