Give NU credit: They came to play tonight. Pardon did some work inside in the first half, with 10 points and 11 boards. It was nice to see Falzon come off the bench with 8.

BMac broke his scoreless streak with a bucket and has five assists, but his shoulder could mean extended minutes for Brown in the second half. We’ll see.

Sanders is doing damage for Rutgers, who definitely miss Freeman.

NU’s offense looks good against a formidable defensive team. They have 10 assists on 15 baskets, but their nine turnovers has kept Rutgers within striking distance, down 9 at the break.

I'm just ready for this season to be over. I want to remember these guys as the plucky, fearless, passionate team of last year and not this depressing, disinterested group this year. I know they're human and I shouldn't be so hard on them, but its just sad to watch. Lindsey and Law mope after every play. Macintosh never smiles anymore. The enthusiasm and joy is just gone and its tough to see this special group go out this way.

Because a one-armed Mac might still get more teammates involved than a three-armed Brown?

‪With BMac out right now, NU has Lindsey bringing the ball up and Brown isn’t even in the lineup. That tells you how much trust Collins has in Brown to run the offense. ‬

Reading the comments here would lead me to believe the Cats are down by 15. OK, it is Rutgers, but we are battling.

Scottie just went on a tear to extend the lead. We opened the half looking lethargic. He's actually doing a nice job running the offense right now.

Not sure what your problem is, C. You're telling McIntosh to "smile more"??? Really?

Maybe you should try playing Big Ten basketball with injured legs and a newly injured dominant shoulder. Then I can tell you to smile.

This team was disinterested early in the year but I don't have that criticism lately.

Sorry.... but if you don't recognize the lack of joy in this team compared to last year, then I guess you're lucky. I don't see them having fun anymore. Where are the chest bumps? Where is the celebrating after big plays? It just seems to be missing. Its just too bad.

I want to vomit they way our team plays. Just awful. Collins needs to recruit more than one player to be able to drive and dish

Why take the three instead of driving for a foul? That worked pretty well the last few attempts.

How is it you let the one guy who has done all the scoring get a shot????

I'm just disgusted.
There's NO leadership on this team.
Up 6 with FTs and a minute left
Miss front end of 1-and-1
Skelly fouls on a 3. Brutal defense.
We settle for a 3. Miss it.
Let their only scorer get a shot off. Hits it.
Get nothing, go to OT.

Terrible coaching, playing, lack of clutchness.
No ability to close out games. It's sad.

Gavin Skelly made a nice effort at the end of the game shot. But his foul was the stupidest play which may cause the game to be lost. So much for NU’s education of him for four years or are the academic standards that bad to admit him?

Skelly has been bad in this game! The limitations of this group are really showing. Great credit to them that they got to the Dance last year.
