Disagree. Our Chicago based fans have a very easy trip to what I think is the closest bowl and a winnable match-up. I’m going to book my trip now!
Zzzzzzz! What a crappy result. Should have known this would happen after d OSU did not sneak in for the playoffs. No reason the Cats should not win against KY but can’t get excited about this lackluster matchup. Shame

Agree on getting jobbed BUT on the bright side there are a lot of salty Io_a fans disgruntled with not getting the Music City. That alone is reason to smile. I'm happy that NU could be the one that ruined their Nashville fantasy.
This is where things need to change. It’s all money we know but the big ten needs with all of its clout set clear ground rules. We should have gone to a better bowl based on MERIT. We beat MSU and had a better record than UM. If I were Phillips I’d get into Delany’s ear and rip him a new one.its a shame for the guys who busted their butts to be let down by some fat, greedy lazy old men.

Be even happier. Downtown Nashville is a great place to spend a couple of days or more. There is tons of stuff to do and lots of good restaurants and bars with exceptional music. And, if you stay down there, there is a bridge across the river directly to the stadium. No waiting for shuttle buses or sitting in traffic after the game. The proximity of the stadium to the tourist area downtown is like San Antonio only everything is better.

Ok. Something positive. I am not a fan of Country Music in any way or form. Last year we went to the Country Music Hall of Fame - it was really worth the time and I’d even go back. Definitely a don’t miss. The Opry Land Hotel is probably reasonable and is an immense place that would be fun with a big crowd.
Cheekwood gardens. One of the best in the South. Saw a Dale Chihuly exhibit there and it was great.
There’s actually a Kentucky home basketball game against their arch rival Louisville only a few hours earlier that same day. That may hurt their attendance after all.
Second the Opry. I'm not a huge country music fan either, but the Opry is fun to go to. However, I believe they've moved the Opry to the Ryman Auditorium (historic, but fairly small) until the end of January, so tickets may be hard to come by.
Really? If that is the case try to get tickets now. The Ryman is right downtown in the tourist area and the acoustics are amazing. That makes it double the reason to try and go.
The days of anything other than playoff bowls and selection committee bowls (a distant second) meaning anything are over. Foster Farms, TaxSlayer, Music City, Holiday, etc. are all just also-ran bowls. As long as a team isn't in one of those bowls like the first week of bowls (which I think are pretty much still joked about), they are all the same.

Or you could be someone like me who doesn't have so many bucks to shell out, but might actually consider going to Nashville, which is drivable from my house.
You can’t please everyone, I don’t blame the folks who lives out west and want to see a California bowl game, but for me it is just too expensive to go there. Nashville is drivable, and we had a great time there before
I was ready to take my 2 1/2 year old daughter on a plane to SD by myself like an insane person, and now I'm thinking we may just take the family in the car the 7-hour drive to Nashville, get an Air B&B, and have a blast. Not certain I'm going to pull it off, but it really made this a much more sellable idea to my wife!
Florida does suck. But I grew up in Alabama and went there all of the time as a teen-ager. Putt-putt golf courses, bad bars, and traffic jams.
Nashville is about a 13 Hour drive for me, went through there and back again over Thanksgiving when visiting relatives in Louisville, Too far to do it in one shot, but I would stop overnight on the way there and back, maybe meet Gladekat who is about a 5 Hour drive north of me and go to Nashville together.Now you understand why I basically abstained from the 47 threads about going to the holiday bowl
