Playing them at night in Evanston brings back some nasty memories. I remember the Cats coming into that game 5-0 with an upstart offense led by Dan Persa and somehow losing an atrocious game against a team with a QB who was essentially the same player as Andrew Brewer.
Does anyone remember the 2010 game vs Purdue?

And old HS friend of mine scored the game winning touchdown for Purdue. I saw him after the game and told him to F off
I have bad memories too. Walking out of the stadium yet again with massive amounts of opponents fans grinning and whooping it up, then the fireworks going off. If the athletic department planned for fireworks to celebrate a 'Cats win at night, someone needed to make the decision NOT to shoot them off with the Cats loss. Ugh.
I remember walking out of the stadium, looked at my buddy who I was there with, and without even thinking about it just instinctively screamed "THEY ALMOST LOST TO WESTERN F*CKING ILLINOIS LAST WEEK" and made a bee line to the tailgate to drink my sorrows away

I was there for that one, at Purdue. To Vinnie Sutherland. Still hurts to think about it.

Drew Brees was an absolute joy to watch in college. Unless you wanted your team to win.
2010 was payback for the 2009 game that Northwestern stole from us.
Jumped out to a 21-3 in the first quarter and then turned the ball over 6 times (5 fumbles) in the last 3 quarters to lose 27-21. Even at that, we had the ball down to the Northwestern 5 yard line on our last drive and Joey Elliott missed an open wide receiver in the back of the end zone on 4th down with 3 seconds left that would have won it for us. Most inexplicable loss I can remember as a Purdue fan.
