Typical dumbarse post, esp. considering that the B1G is currently 5-2 in bowl games and at worst will finish 5-3 to this day.

Who did you beat? Florida without its QB and an overachieving ND? You guys are killer. You just destroyed in 3 bowl games. Your conference is a joke. OSU and Michigan please carry us

Your #3 against our # 8 at best. Congrats!!!

Not sure to what you're referring. If it's UM-UF, Michigan was tied for 4th in B1G, 3rd in their division, and Florida was #2 and #1 in their division.

NU beat Stanford who will finish as a top 5 team so it's not as if we don't "belong." We also beat 4 other teams who have won bowl games.

I'm guessing this guy is a doctor or an engineer or something.... just really seems like the kind of guy that is winning at life!

Looking forward to your next thread! I'm sure it will be both witty and insightful!

At least the Iowa fans get it. Their thread is full of posters who recognize that their record was a house of cards. They finally play a good team and look what happened. This is not the same Stanford team that you saw.

Couldn't stop 4th and 14. To be fair, UF was a lot better with Grier at QB

They weren't a great offensive team, even with him in there, and second-string QB or not, they had 28 yards the entire second half against Michigan. I'll give you guys credit. I think we probably played the best team in that division today. Good luck next year.

The problem isn't the overall record of the B1G... It's that the 3 losses have come in horrible fashion. Mich St, Iowa, and Northwestern all got blown out.

For the record, I'm not into the whole conference pride crap... Just qualifying what those outside B1G country see... We don't care that Minnesota beat CMU. What did your best teams do? Other than Ohio St and Michigan, it hasn't been competitive.

I think it was a little more than beating CMU. Michigan throttled an SEC division winner, Ohio State crushed a Notre Dame team that was two close losses to conference champions from being undefeated, a 5-7 Nebraska team beat an 8-4 UCLA team and a Wisconsin team featuring probably its worst offense in the last 10 years beat a ranked USC team. I'll give the SEC all the credit in the world this year, but we had a pretty good league, probably the second best of the P5 this year. Outside of the Rose Bowl today, we've handled the Pac 12, the ACC isn't much outside of Clemson and the Big 12 plays zero defense.

I gave Ohio St and Michigan credit... Wisconsin beat an 8-6 USC, good win but not great.

It can't be understated how much worse UF is without Grier though...

Anyways... Iowa, Mich St, and Northwestern lost by a combined 128-22. The B1G has gone 3-3 with their upper echelon of teams. Not a nightmare, but those losses are a blackened for the league IMO.

This could be spun any way anyone wants to spin it. Michigan just destroyed a team that played in the SEC championship. Northwestern beat (and really controlled the entire game) Stanford, who just destroyed Iowa...who destroyed Northwestern. Ohio State comfortably beat ND, who had extremely tough losses on the road to Stanford and Clemson. And on and on it goes.

Comparing scores and who beat who is really a dumb exercise. Teams don't always play their best, which can make for big upsets, blowouts, exciting games, etc. it's what makes college football so great. I completel understand why people want to do the whole comparing conferences thing, but it's really a pointless exercise when you start comparing scores of teams that played each other on one Saturday. Because, as I said, anyone can find a result that backs up their argument.

All excellent points, will add that Michigan absolutely manhandled Florida without its best player, Jabril Peppers. So if you make the injury excuse for Florida, it goes both ways.

Bowls are so match-up dependent; Michigan was selected over us for a "better" game vs. Florida, but in reality the "better" team Florida had no chance against Michigan, If the games were switched, we may very well have beaten Florida, and Tennessee may very well have lost to Michigan....

We're certainly not the best football conference, but the days of us losing most/all of our bowl games appear to be behind us.

You tools play practical home bowl games yearly, and have the audacity to think you are "all that with a bag of chips"?

*****, please.

Michigan is 3-0 vs Fla in bowls played in their home state the past 15 years. Let them come here for the next 3, and we will be 6-0. If you red necks could actually drive in the snow, that would be possible.

Last I knew it was still North 1 South 0. Now piss off.

I am glad you find comfort in the success of Michgian and Ohio St.

Meanwhile... Tennessee has won 6 of its last 7 bowl games vs the B1G.

There was also an entire thread about southern teams playing games up north. It pretty debunked the idea that southern teams can't win in the cold.

Well they are half way to Michigan's record. Lets check back in 14 years. Current success you can thank a coach from the Central Michigan University coaching tree. Guess you are Michigan South.

UT will never be in Michigan shadow. Really, UM only has to play 2 tough teams a year (both beat you this year). Penn St. just lost to a UGA team with no HC, DC, or OC on staff. Face it, outside of UM, MSU, and OSU, the entire Big 10 sucks. None of you would finish higher than 3rd in the SEC West

Big 10 bowl wrap up 5-5. Victories against UCLA, USC, Florida, Notre Dame, and Central Michigan. With the exception of CMU, all look good on the surface. However, UCLA and USC are way overrated. Notre Dame was good. Florida's last 4 games of the year were an OT win over Florida Atlantic, blown out by FSU, Bama, and Michigan. Wheels are off the wagon.

The 5 losses were ugly. Duke was as bad down the stretch as any team in the country. The Miami game gutted them. Penn St. lost to a UGA team with no coaches who had ever been coordinators. Then poor Iowa, MSU, and Northwestern got humiliated.

Records vs conferences
Pac 12 2-1
MAC 1-0
ACC 0-1
Independent 1-0
SEC 1-3

Overall, I would put the Big 10 third among the Power 5.

I'm not into the whole 'throwing the hate back and forth' thing going on here, but the question of relative conference strength does interest me.

I track it every year. This year, the regular season was pretty close among four of the five Power 5 conferences, with the ACC a dismal 5th:

The bowl season is looking about the same, but it's the B12 playing tail-end Charlie. So far, it is:

SEC -- 7-2 (78%)
PAC -- 6-2 (75%)
B10 -- 5-5 (50%)
ACC -- 4-5 (44%)
B12 -- 1-3 (25%)

Still more games to play, though.

B10 is absolutely no longer the "sick man of the Power 5." I personally think that is now the ACC, but the B12 is trying hard to make their own case this season.

I am very glad for you that you live your life vicariously through SEC football. It must be very rewarding. I'm guessing that's all you have going for you. S-E-C! S-E-C! We at Northwestern don't hear many chants with letters in them, unless they are MBA! PhD! JD! MD! You bore me.

Do you also enjoy being an arrogant A-hole? You are the stereotype of the typical SEC fan, but I guess it's not a stereotype it's just reality.

I congratulate you on beating us fair and square with a team composed mainly of guys who couldn't get into NU on a bet. We have to deal with with schools like you, playing with one hand behind our backs, because we demand that our athletes study real subjects and that they graduate, instead of majoring in football. You don't have that problem. I know, it's a bit of the same old song, but it's true. Every now and then we whup the Subpar Edimication Conference, like when we beat Miss State a couple of years back. And I laugh at night, knowing I wouldn't send my dog to an SEC school.,Except maybe Vandy. But probably not.

You still bore me.

On that note, some graduation performance stats from a couple of years ago:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...h-the-best-and-worst-graduation-rates/page/30

That puts you in the bottom 20% or so. Color me unimpressed.
