"There's no rationalization or cockiness from me... Only confidence. We have an elite defense that is geered to shutting down the run... And is especially talented as stopping the spread type runs that Tennessee employs. If Tennessee can run, their offense will fall apart.

Defensively, Tennessee has gotten worn down late in games. That's because the great Tennessee pass rushers get tired after being hit by 300lbs oline man all day. I'm running at Barnett all day and focus wearing him down. Wanna know how I know this? Because I watched 6 Tennessee games on YouTube. We also are going to be better on offense. That's what happens when a RS freshman who was splitting reps with 2 very different guys up until the start of the season is taking a vast majority of your snaps. You give him a month of being the starter. You give our OC a month to tailor the offense to him. He's going to be better and our offense will be better.

I'm not going to be intimidated by Tennessee, the SEC, or a giant fan base. Guess how many teams we've beaten this year with bigger fan bases, better tradition... 7 of our 10 wins. How did we do against the SEC the last couple times we played? We won those. Tennessee also didn't beat the top SEC teams.... Or the 2nd tier either. You can't intimidate me and the team won't be intimidated either even if some posters on here lack the faith in the program.

Do i give Tennessee no chance? Of course not. Tennessee is a big play team on offense and special teams. You get off to a quick start, it could be a long day. 70% cats 30% vols makes sense to me."

"LOL.... You think NU is gonna score 24 on Tenn when they only did that 3 times all year vs P5 teams and none of those teams had a winning record. LMAO"

@shakes3858 "24 seems about right. Could be 23 like against PSU. Damn kicker missing PATs! Or it could be 23 like we would've scored against Stanford if our DB didn't kneel down on the game clinching INT's return instead of taking an easy TD. Maybe it'll be 26 like we would've scored against Duke but we took a knee again instead of taking the easy TD.

Again, congratulations on your moral victories this year. You're going to get another one on Friday. Then you're going to brag to all your friends about almost beating an 11-2 team in a bowl game."

Wow, the Tennessee fan base is a sorry group. I gained a lot of respect for the Tennessee football team today, and have lost a ton of respect for the Tennessee fans since the minute this matchup was announced.

You guys love football- no denying that. Big and passionate fan base that loves their team. But man, you guys have more pieces of crap in your fan base than any school I've ever seen. The lack of class and taking pride in it during the process is really a thing.

Good game by your Vols today. Lots of great players. Hurd is a star and has a bright future on Sundays.

Wait a minute. I haven't posted a thing on here but I have been reading. Your guy posted his stuff and ran his mouth before the game. All that happened in this thread is a calling out for him to answer for his outlandish statements.

You can find some inappropriate posts but this one isn't one of them LOL.

Hey man, I stand by what I said. It's an overall blanket statement of what I've seen over the past month. I've stayed away from the boards because the constant trash talking (both sides) by people who have no say in the outcome of the game is just head scratching to me. Just not my cup of tea I guess. And then to come back and chest pump over accomplishments of others...to each their own I guess.

And yes, I know many of our fans would have done the same. Doesn't make it any less sad and stupid.

Good luck to your Vols in 2016. Bright future down in Knoxville.

All I was saying was that in this instance the guy deserves his crow.

Good luck to you guys as well, hope you are injury free and have a great year next year.

Wow, that's the dumbest post in the history of the interwebs...everything you said was the exact opposite...oh and Derek Barnett is one of the best ends in the country, he's the last guy you want to run at, but you know that now.

Well, he actually went to the game. You know, outside of his house.

There were a "few" Vol fans there too that made it outside of their trailers. U probably noticed? Hard too believe all of those poor white trash Vol fans that live with their Moms in trailers with only an eighth grade education could afford to go all the way to Florida, but they did. They probably married their sisters while they were there but I'm sure they had a good time.

Talk about taking a post the wrong way and just...well, I don't even know what you are getting at here. Whatever it is, it's far from what I was implying.

nobody here takes shakes seriously. He was a cheerleader on the NU cheerleader squad. He loves the cats and has a lot of purple blood though and is a nice guy. That said, he was right. Trouble is that our Offensive Coordinator didn't stick to what we do best. Running at Barnett, like shakes said, did just fine. For whatever reason, our OC decided to put the game on the shoulders of our QB who is seriously lacking.
Oh well, Good game. I can see you guys being ranked Top 5 early next year.

You had to throw the ball because you were behind 2+ TD's. You know, it wasn't like you were gashing us on the ground and then started throwing the ball.
