That's not true at all. It's as necessary next year as it is today, and was a year ago. Until spending is under control, we are in danger. Hell, our credit rating is probably at about a 500 score right now, and this CR would've put it at about 450.
That's not how are Government Credit "Score" is even rated. That's a Consumer report score and hopefully somebody's that you have permission to access.

They are trying to pass one with a bunch of pork in it. Trump is saying no. Pass a bare minimum one and get to work after the New Congress is sworn on a balanced budget.
