Harris' and the Dem's whole campaign is designed to make you believe they are not for things they actually support. It's a stealth campaign, where the candidate (the cacklin' Communist) avoids answering questions or getting pinned down on specifics of her past positions or actual record, while she's offering euphemistic platitudinal phrasing designed to make voters think she's not just another aimless Left wing kook.
The kooks understand this is what she must do to get elected, because like @moe, they understand their extreme radical Leftist views are not acceptable to the vast majority of Americans. However, they don't care. If they have to lie, or cheat, or even hide their true agenda in order to reach their ultimate nirvana of establishing a Socialist edifice for America absent any mention of "God" or absent any dominating White Christian fundamentalists calling for a return to our moral foundations... so be it.
