Xavier was 2nd in the Big East at 15-5 but was eliminated by Texas of the Big 12 in the Sweet Sixteen.
Creighton was 3rd in the Big East at 14-6 and still is alive for Sunday’s Elite Game against 5 seed San Diego State.
The regular season and conference tournaments seem irrelevant when it comes to March Madness.
