I would never live there

@NYC_Eer

Not just NYC. They fired military people. People lost jobs from coast to coast over this.

This is changing all of the sudden because there is an election in 2 weeks and the blue team is getting their **** pushed in.

Don’t worry. You can’t afford it. You couldn’t even afford Beckley.

People who can afford to live in that $h!thole are fleeing. It's hard to imagine people paying to live in $h!tholes like New York and California. It would take a bleater or being a criminal to live in those places.

The only people living there are the poor souls who can't afford to leave.

Not enough money for me to work in NYC. I turn calls down all the time . My pay scale in the city is absurd.

I was watching a tik/tok video of this real estate agent randomly asking New Yorkers how much they pay a month for rent, food, or other utilities. Some idiot girl pays 900/m for a hobbit sized apartment in not even the prettiest part of New York. It’s a dump and the crime is absurd.

Currently, median rents in New York City stand at $2,106 for a one-bedroom apartment and $2,224 for a two-bedroom.

I wouldn't pay $106 for a one-bedroom apartment or $224 for a two-bedroom to live in New York. I've lost all interest of even visiting New York.

My scale is close to 100$ per hr double time after 8 ... not in this lifetime. For the last 9 weeks I've worked in hillsboro NJ (north Jersey) could see part of the NYC sky line & have zero interest in going in that pile of steaming **** .
100 miles out of the city ny is a wonderful place

Ask New Yorkers why they're leaving their financial mecca for cheaper and yes "safer" domiciles?

excerpt:
38.9% of voters are “considering” or already have “made plans” to head out, up five points from a month earlier. If even just half do, New York could lose millions of residents and enormous political clout, not to mention the tax revenue these folks pay. Never mind the druggies and crazies, disastrous schools or even surging crime (though 48% say crime’s Priority One for the next gov, vs. 43% who cite taxes). Notably, the second-most cited reason — a desire to find a “better job or economic opportunities” — is linked to the first: High taxes spur not only people but companies to flee and take jobs with them, reducing opportunity.

excerpt:

High-earning taxpayers are leaving New York, and it cost the state $19.5 billion. That is confirmed by the IRS. They are fleeing the high taxes and the rising crime rates. No other state is losing as many residents.

Tracking returns filed in 2019 and 2020 showed that 479,826 people left New York for another state or country in those years. Only 231,439 people moved to the state. That’s a net loss of 248,387 residents. They took their $19.5 billion with them, Just the News reports.

New Jersey and Florida were the biggest beneficiaries.

While unelected Governor Kathy Hochul worries about “X’s” marking genders on driver’s licenses, crime is still rampant. Asians are still abused. Criminals still get out of prison without bail, even after committing violent crimes.

In two weeks, will YOU be on here posting articles about how great voters responded to the Democrat's and creepy Joe Biden's masterful economic leadership for the country the past two years?

@sammyk ....hedging his bets

LOL. NYC goes in cycles. Its difficult to run a Top 5 city in the world. COVID ****** it up, but it'll be back just like it always is. Half the people I know that left are already back, because they realized the grass wasn't greener. If you have the money you deal w/ the taxes, because of all the other benefits.

You obviously don't understand the different between Manhattan, the Boroughs, and Westchester and the like. I don't many people at all that left Manhattan or Westchester. People that left couldn't afford to live anywhere but the Bronx, Queens, or some city suburb they had to take a 90 min train to get to the city from.

I live in Westchester. We don't have any of the issues that NYC has. People that didn't move out of state moved to Westchester, Long Island, etc, and my property values have increased 33%. Worked out for me. I don't work in the city any more. I can go in when I want...dinner, Knicks, meetings, etc and I can't tell the difference.

Figures lie, and liars figure. In two weeks American voters will kick Democrats out of power because they don't feel safer with Democrats in charge. You won't be posting any articles bragging about how well Democrats have reduced crime in America.

@sammyk ...just being honest

Well that's fine...you should talk to all the folks leaving. New York is not a magnet bringing them back either. My Brother-in-Law lives in Mt. Vernon (which is not NYC) he and his Wife visited us here in Atlanta a few months back...we showed them some of the available housing near where I live in suburban Gwinnett and they're making plans to move here. Everyone's different of course, but New York is not attracting as many new residents as it's losing.

Hard to argue that fact.
