And down $.60 over the past month. Gas prices went up over $1.50/gallon when Russia invaded Ukraine as the sanctions took a million barrels per day off the market. Sooner the world rids itself of Putin the better off everyone will be especially those who depend on the grain from Ukraine

'14... you can't be this much of an idiot...

but, I could be wrong...

it doesn't happen often...

Could you explain to the rest of us why obiden is selling our strategic reserve oil to the ccp ?

Trump bought that oil @ $30 per barrel...

it's going to cost over $100 per barrel to replace...

but you don't care, it's just billions of dollars of taxpayer money for you to spend...

hmmmmmm....

I've lost track on the counts of treason, just in these past 18 months, that this regime has made...

but, Gitmo and the gallows will be waiting...

Gas prices were already fvcked due to the Administration’s executive actions at the onset of his Presidency. As was inflation. The only people who believe Putin is responsible for the state of gas prices are morons.

Riddle me this, how much is Biden going to cost the country by his release of the SPRs? We do have to replenish that. We do have to buy it. The reserves were built up by Trump for almost nothing.

This equates to Biden is spending a trillion dollars of taxpayer money on the midterms.

He needs his grifts to pay for more vacation homes for he and his crackhead son.

Can't get grifts from that oil as long as it sits in our storage facilities.

Trump didn't build up ****....this is from Forbes magazine:

Through his spokesperson, President Trump claimed:

“So after 50 years of being virtually empty, I built up our oil reserves during my administration, and low energy prices, to 100% full. It’s called the Strategic National Reserves, and it hasn’t been full for many decades. In fact, it’s been mostly empty.”

There’s just nothing about that statement that is true. As you can see in the graphic below, the SPR levels have never fallen below 500,000 thousand (i.e., 500 million) barrels of crude oil since the 1980s.

SPR Inventory Through History

SPR levels 1982-2022

ENERGY INFORMATION ADMINISTRATION
In fact, the highest level ever for the SPR was in 2010, when Barack Obama was president. Further, there was actually a net decline in the SPR when President Trump was in office. When he took office in January 2017, the SPR contained 695 million barrels. When he left office four years later, the SPR contained 638 million barrels. So not only is the claim of filling it untrue, but the level of the SPR actually declined while President Trump was in office.

One thing President Trump did propose was to top off the SPR when the Covid-19 pandemic was crushing oil demand. In March 2020 President Trump directed the Department of Energy to “fill the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) to its maximum capacity by purchasing 77 million barrels of American-made crude oil.”

That directive may be the source of President Trump’s confusion on the issue. However, 1). The directive was never carried out; and 2). The SPR was already within 13% of its highest-ever level when that directive was issued. So it’s not as if the SPR was empty at the time.

If that is your victory given the current gas prices, more power to ya!

And Biden is going to pay for this release of the SPR, how?
It pays for itself by lower gas prices which eases the burden on American families and also helps bring down inflation. They can then fill the reserves back up as needed after Putin gets defeated in Ukraine. Once that war is over, gas prices should go back down to prewar levels.

Below is information from the department of the United States treasury website

our analysis suggests that President Biden’s historic SPR release, in coordination with IEA partners, lowered the price of gasoline by 17 cents to 42 cents per gallon, with an alternate approach suggesting a point estimate of 38 cents per gallon. This decline in prices had meaningful benefits for American consumers and helped to mitigate the impacts of rising gas prices on economywide inflation. Moving forward, the Biden Administration is committed to further addressing concerns about rising energy prices.

I don’t consider proving posters wrong on this off-topic board as a victory. It’s really quite easy. It’s called fact checking.

Why would you cheer the fact that Biden stopped fracking and oil production to producing almost 2 mill barrels a day less nearly doubling the cost of gas at the pump. I can afford it, it hurts a little but the little people are the ones that those regs hurt the most

Thinks that it was just bad luck that after Biden introduced regulations that stopped 2 mill barrels a day of oil and natural gas production that gas doubled. Some are just dumb. Why is the question I want answered. I'm pretty well off, I don't like paying more but I'm not worrying about what it costs now.

Do you have a timeline on Putin’s defeat? What does a Putin defeat look like? Him keeping everything east of the Dnipro River and the Crimea area? Basically, all of the massive gains he’s made and nearly cutting the country in half while massively bolstering the health of the ruble?

So, dropping prices to prewar levels, then gas is still going to be significantly higher than when Trump was in office due to the administration’s policy actions?

Cool, sounds like an Overton window shift. Glad this administration can negatively impact American families with impunity.

It is amazing. Some people are so petty and partisan, they would rather suffer and every American suffer because they don’t like the president.

I don’t get it. That mentality is everything that is wrong with American politics.

Some people just need to grow up.

Do you really believe what you just posted? Gas prices start rising once the country started opening up from pandemic. In May 2020 gas prices were down to an average of $1.88 a gallon. By the time the November election came around they were $2.39 a gallon.

They increased as more and more people were getting out of their houses. It’s called supply and demand.

President Biden did not decrease oil production in the United States. His administration only stopped new drilling on federal lands. Big oil can drill as much oil they want and produce as much as they want. The jobless rate in this country still below 4%. People have money and they are taking trips and using gas. Putin‘s invasion increased gas prices in March and April by almost $1.50 a gallon. It had an effect on the overall world market for oil.

My original post shows that gas prices have gone down $.60 in the last month. If you don’t like it then take it up with AAA.

In 2019 as produced 4.485 trillion barrels of oil.
2020 it was 4.129 trillion
2021 it was 4.01 trillion barrels.
2022 will be less
There are your figures you moron
