Opinion: Gavin Newsom is doing more than just crushing Ron DeSantis

In response to this news story, Newsom – once again taking the fight to the GOP – tweeted, “The Republican Party platform: Government mandated pregnancies for 10-year-olds.”

I watched Noem this weekend do everything but take off her mike and leave the set trying to dodge CNN Bash's question of would a 10 y.o. rape victim be forced to give birth in her state. She couldn't seem to say "yes".

Interesting. I’m not a big Newsom fan, but it is nice to see someone finally stepping up. Biff is the gift that keeps on giving and the Dems needs to take advantage of it.

Not an endorsement, just glad to see a new Dem name interested in the top job, need more. Tired of the old line up. I do like his approach of taking it to the Repubs.

This taking it to and owning **** needs to stop. Never ending cycle of Trumpiness. Needs to stop on both sides and we need to return to some sort of civility.

And a SF liberal would never win a Presidential election in todays climate…nor should he.

The taking it to and owning **** has been around for decades long before Trump. I get it, your hatred for the guy causes you to say some stupid ****, but did he really break you this bad?

oh and btw, I agree it needs to stop. It needed to stop decades ago but our politicians and media hyped it up.

This is the **** that needs to stop. The demonization and advocation of armed violence. It's beyond irresponsible. A politician might say it's symbolic but they know exactly what they're doing. That's where Jan. 6 came from, gin 'em up. Just keep all that crazy in the red states and leave everyone else alone and I won't care.

“The backlash is coming,” warned Senator Rick Scott of Florida. “Just mount up and ride to the sounds of the guns, and they are all over this country. It is time to take this country back.”

Citing the fight against Nazi Germany during the Battle of the Bulge, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson of North Carolina said, “We find ourselves in a pitched battle to literally save this nation.” Referencing a passage from Ephesians that Christian nationalists often use to signal their militancy, he added, “I don’t know about you, but I got my pack on, I got my boots on, I got my helmet on, I’ve got on the whole armor.”
