This is what happens when people making decisions don't have to pay for certain things (ex. gasoline/fuel).
1. For the average American, like myself, having a "holiday" for gasoline where there is no federal tax would save me a WHOPPING $4.40 on a normal fill up. Somehow I don't think that is going to help me out much. But again, the people making these decisions don't have to pay for gas.........taxpayers do.
2. Having a gas "holiday" would take BILLIONS from the transportation department with lost tax revenue used for fixing roads, bridges, etc. So I may save $4.40, but at the end of next winter when I hit a pothole and destroy my front end on my vehicle and it costs me THOUSANDS....thanks!
