My last Senior Lead Engineer was a Captain in the Navy reserves. Both were African American and we treated each other with great respect. Had a great relationship and have stayed in contact even in my retirement.

Both my kids played AAU travel BB and their teams, coaches, referees, team moms and opposing fans were mostly African American. We had no issues with the teams and their coaches were simply outstanding. But the opposition fans were a different story. We did nothing together and there were some biases. And they weren’t hard to see. We were the minority and had to prove we belonged. Two things I’ll always remember, parents(regardless of race) want a fair shake and the best for their kids and the coaches wanted to win.

A major learning for me was there are common grounds to build on. Nobody should have to overcome more than the basic challenges faced by all that aspire to the opportunity. If we put differences aside, coaches will win more, bosses will get productivity and sales will sell because the most people will fit under our tents. OK, I’ll get off the soap box and take a lap.

Who knows, NYC may even decide to return by now. Not going to hold my breath.

I've been a pipeliner my whole adult life & have traveled up & down the east coast working in all the cities & towns . I started out as a laborer & at 12.00 $ hr I stayed in the **** holes (crack shacks) .

But its obvious that there that crime rate in the city has increased, but there are many factors...all the **** involving COVID is a big factor. That has next to thing to do w/ policy. I've said many times on here before that de Blasio was a disaster, but he's gone. Eric Adams, a former police captain, is in charge now, and his highest priority is to figure out the crime issue in the city. I'm confident he'll do it, but all that has been done over the last several years can't be undone in 2 months.

What you say is true, but not all of Georgia's population is in metro Atlanta, not even half of it! Outside Atlanta, it's GOP districts which are dominant and usually are enough to make up for the Democrat vote around Atlanta metro. That's concentrated mostly in Fulton & DeKalb counties. Gwinnett, Cobb, Henry, Clayton, Walton, Hall, Cherokee, Rockdale and other surrounding counties are GOP.

Georgia's State Legislature is solidly GOP, and Democrats have zero chance of taking either chamber back.

1. Stop stupid bail procedures
2. Support the police publicly
3. Start the broken window policy again
4. Arresting the felons and detaining them.
5. Clean up the streets.

Crime is higher in cities...period. More people in a small area and an urban atmosphere = more crime. There are virtually no conservative cities with more than 250K. Based on that criteria there are very few conservative cities, and on the scale of liberal to conservative those cities aren't very conservative at all. So, to say crime is only present in liberal cities is better said as crime is present in most if not all cities.

The issue was crime in Liberal cities where there are ongoing calls to "defund" police. Despite you claiming you don't support that, we're waiting for your posts backing up what you claim?
