Yes all of the aboveDo/Have you paid in to Social Security? Do/Have you had health insurance? Car insurance?
Yes all of the aboveDo/Have you paid in to Social Security? Do/Have you had health insurance? Car insurance?
Exactly. Politicians created all of this. Besides intervening with foreign and domestic adversaries, nobody should ever expect or even ask government for help. Why are we giving what someone else earned to someone who did not earn it ? Trump doubled it & I was against that . I'm low middle class some years & middle, middle class others & my kids are adults now & they tax the mortal piss out of me if I work overtime, why should I pay for someone else's choices? Our politicians are the ones who put loopholes in for big donors. Dont cuss the players cuss the creators of the game .
Oh I knew you were not agreeing to it. I was just throwing my opinion on ot in there.I wasn’t saying I agreed with the idiot lol. Robin Hood was probably the first liberal in theory since he was made up
Great Depression?Exactly. Politicians created all of this. Besides intervening with foreign and domestic adversaries, nobody should ever expect or even ask government for help.
Then you realize that you are paying premiums that you MIGHT NEVER use, but that your money goes to others that don't have insurance and covers their accidents or illnesses.Yes all of the above
Yes but those benefitting are paying into the fund.Do/Have you paid in to Social Security? Do/Have you had health insurance? Car insurance?
I do understand how that works , but insurance companies are not giving my money away to someone who hasn't paid into it . Bad comparison. Then you realize that you are paying premiums that you MIGHT NEVER use, but that your money goes to others that don't have insurance and covers their accidents or illnesses.
And people who have no insurance and stiff the hospitals or other claims and don't pay.......where does the money to cover those losses come from? Not from the company, I can assure you of that. It's from the people like you and me that pay our premiums.Yes but those benefitting are paying into the fund.
With the child tax credit a lot of people who pay no taxes are getting handouts.
Who pays the bills of the uninsured when they walk out and don't pay the bill?I do understand how that works , but insurance companies are not giving my money away to someone who hasn't paid into it . Bad comparison.
I dont have a problem with kids being a deduction or paying for private schools being a deduction, I have a problem with giving people money back that they didn't pay into .
I like a user tax over income tax or a flat 10% on every one and all businesses
Now you are just twisting away. Hospitals and other companies mitigating risk via prices is far different from a legislated handout in the guise of tax relief. And people who have no insurance and stiff the hospitals or other claims and don't pay.......where does the money to cover those losses come from? Not from the company, I can assure you of that. It's from the people like you and me that pay our premiums.
Come on man ......totally different situation. I'm talking about politicians buying votes with tax dollars & you are talking about private businesses trying to recoup losses due to people not paying their bills.Who pays the bills of the uninsured when they walk out and don't pay the bill?
Different scenarios, but same concept. You stated that you don't think people should pay in to something that others who don't pay in get benefits for.Come on man ......totally different situation. I'm talking about politicians buying votes with tax dollars & you are talking about private businesses trying to recoup losses due to people not paying their bills.
I did agree with Obama when he said people should pay health insurance before paying a cable bill.....or however he said it .
Exactly. Politicians created all of this. Besides intervening with foreign and domestic adversaries, nobody should ever expect or even ask government for help.

One is government one is not .Different scenarios, but same concept. You stated that you don't think people should pay in to something that others who don't pay in get benefits for.
If you are getting just what you paid in then I'm all good with that , but if you are getting more than you paid in than you are getting someone else's money. Pretty simple really. How do you know they didnt earn it?
That's money the govt already took from me going back into my pocket....
Yes but those benefitting are paying into the fund.

I dont like having to pay higher medical expenses because of people not paying their bills, I dont like having to pay higher premiums for uninsured motorists.....most of them are illegal immigrants....I dont like paying for them . But this was about people getting a tax refund that they didn't pay into .
I can see people who make less than 100,000 getting it all back , but not more than they paid in
I haven't filed in 2 years, I no I no ... I'm sure I owe last year.Did you use SALT deductions on your early return?
Congratulations...I helped subsidize your property tax.
Did they give you 8,000 ? Or just a tax credit?I bought my first home in 2008 and took home the $8,000 home buyers credit.
Thanks for the $8,000 roadtrash!
I haven't filed in 2 years, I no I no ... I'm sure I owe last year.
Pretty simple really, I'm against any loopholes, subsidies or any other horse **** politicians come up with. Set the tax rate & move on . Vote for politicians who want lower taxes.
I'm against politicians giving other people's money away . This 3000$ is just a little of the bigger problem. If they didnt pay into it they wouldn't be eligible.
If your gripe is that a working family of three gets a $3,000 tax credit at the end of the year, you need find some real problems.
Did they give you 8,000 ? Or just a tax credit?
I will & do use everything I can to pay as little as I can & if I could I'd claim the whole neighborhood.Well when you did previously file, im sure you took advantage of those deductions...everyone does.
Like i said earlier, tax code always benefits some people more than others....
The current standard deduction for a married couple filing jointly is $25,000. So everyone gets their first $25K tax free, so let's not pretend their isnt positives for everyone.
I dont blame anyone for playing the system I do and will. I hate it's such a chicken **** system. If they just cut 5axes to create decent paying jobs they wouldn't need to hand out money every yearInterest free loan, if you stay in home for 3 years you didnt need to pay it back...
I will & do use everything I can to pay as little as I can & if I could I'd claim the whole neighborhood.
Now I'm saying the system sucks & the slimy politicians who created knew what they was doing.
Trump stopped me from having a lot of deductions & they started tracking perdium.....dirty bastards..I thought the 2017 was pretty good....only people screwed where people living in expensive homes in high tax states - mainly the northeast.
Lowered rates across the board. Eliminated most itemized deductions by doubling standard deduction.
Not perfect but as good as the govt will get...
Trump stopped me from having a lot of deductions & they started tracking perdium.....dirty bastards..
All in all I didn't think it 2as to bad . Talk about a game pay high state property taxes knowing your gonna get it back from the feds .
I work in NJ a lot & hear what they are paying & the tax games they play to try & beat them. WV taxes are bad enough
I'm a welder & travel a good bit & yes I've itemized over 25,000, single claiming 0So you normally itemized over $25,000 (assuming youre married and filed jointly)?
I don't know what WV taxes are like, but you mentioned you live a middle class lifestyle....I'd say most middle class people in WV dont itemize over $25,000 and probably saved by both the expanded standard deduction and lower rates
I'm a welder & travel a good bit & yes I've itemized over 25,000, single claiming 0
I get perdium, before 2017 I could get by with claiming all my expenses & new equipment, after 2017 they closed my loopholes. You can still use expenses to bring down your total tax liability.
I get perdium, before 2017 I could get by with claiming all my expenses & new equipment, after 2017 they closed my loopholes.
Perdium is not taxed 140.00 a day, & my welding rig at 18.00 hr is not taxed, dirty bastards started tracking perdium and rig pay so I cant claim anything except mileage
Sorry, good thing I can weld , dam sure cant spell .Took me a minute to figure out you meant per diem.
Sorry
Not self employed, employers rent my equipment & I maintain it .No I got you.
If youre self-employed you can still use claim your wielding machine, lead, ect.
If not, I'd think employer should shoulder that cost.
All I'm saying is a person shouldn't get back more than they paid in.Read more about what Manchin is asking for. I don't disagree with him. He says that if you didn't file for a tax return, then you shouldn't get the child tax credit. I believe this may be what RT is talking about, if so, I don't disagree. Maybe I understood your intentions.
