Why do they ALWAYS look this??

Seriously.

What is the average Leftist male's main hurdle in exuding even an ounce of masculinity?
That’s a great question and there’s a simple answer. Capitalism requires competition. A person’s success or failure is largely, though not exclusively, based on that person’s ability to compete. People like Colton—sensitive as they are—abhor competition. The feel that the cards are stacked against them, and that others have an unfair advantage. Marxism and leftism promises a level playing field—a more just system. Unfortunately, when sensitive people like Colton get their wish, and a Marxist government is installed, these tender souls are the first to get crushed.

The people bitching must not understand what it means to be on an advisory board. It requires very little time. I would be surprised if he spent more than 5 hours every couple of weeks and a monthly Zoom call on this thing.

Or their real complaint is about the school itself, which is more likely the case. Either way it’s stupid.
WVU's association with the University of Austin. Some people are losing their minds over it. And it is definitely political.

This will seem ad hominem, but it's been my experience that there is no bigger reflection of a hack writer with very little to say than someone who repeatedly writes one sentence paragraphs un-ironically. Faux poignancy, obvious over-compensation for lack of a convincing argument.

Social issues need to be kept out of education. Period. Students need to think for themselves and mold their own views.
100% agree with that. Some of it should be covered in Political Science classes, but other that…100% agree

Bari Weiss got her start by trying to get Palestinian professors fired from Columbia. She's never been for free speech

You left out the part where she is a Jew who supports Israel. So Nazi's and Hamas supporters probably hate her.

I read a response from President Gee concerning this and he explained that he agrees with the concept of free speech at WVU as well as what’s being done at the University of Austin and that’s what has the woke idiots up in arms. I’m glad he is leading our university.

Hahahahha

For pushing anti-Semitic BDS arguments towards Israel?

Interesting hill to die on, enjoy the trek. Context matters.

College should always be a space of free exchange of ideas. Some may be left leaning, some right leaning, some “mainstream”, and some contrarian.

Colleges should be “classically liberal.” Meaning, they should be a place to learn and discuss and debate thoughts and ideas openly and freely without fear of retribution.

Sometimes, ideas that are originally fringe ideas, become accepted into the “mainstream.”

Traditionally, colleges had various “schools of thought”, and while they didn’t necessarily agree with one another, all were free to discuss and debate their ideas……even those others disagreed with.

Honesty debate is healthy……cancellation is not.

Unless grades are done away with in the majority of these liberal arts classes, you’re almost forced to follow along with the dogma or else you won’t get that A in the class you need. Many political science classes are tested by essay response and if you deviate from what the professor believes, you get marked down.

Do you have proof that this is true?

Yeah, I have a transcript from the classes I had to take because you can’t just take classes in your major. Had to drop a PolSci class in my sophomore year due to teacher marking his liberal opinions on my exam. Same as the Race and Culture class that I took. Many students in my specific class had different beliefs but had to go along with which Way the teacher was leaning,

Need me to email it to you?

I agree. I was a double major in Economics and Political Science. While I found the Economics field to be generally very open to ideas and thought, I found the Political Science field to be very much how you are describing these classes in a number of instances.

I guess my post is more what colleges should ideally be, not what they are.

@wvuhskr

are you going to respond to your seeming defense of overt anti-Semitism and support of BDS or are we left to just assume you hate Jews? And that be ok?

Interesting you color official complaints about professors who called for the destruction of Israel as trying to get Palestinian professors fired. Her complaints targeted their behavior. Their words targeted her ethnicity. Your words reveal your hypocrisy.

Dude I don't have to defend **** to you lol. Who tf are you? I'm not the one painting myself as this free speech absolutist while simultaneously spending my writing career trying to get people canceled that I disagree with, like Bari. Professors are Columbia were only one group she wanted to cancel over her career - and you're wildly mischaracterizing those professor's critiques. If they were outright antisemetic they wouldn't hold tenure at Columbia.

Bari's a hypocrite. You whining like a baby online trying to defend her honor isn't doing anything. Hop off my nuts dude.

Oh really?

"The Jews are not a nation. The Jewish state is a racist state that does not have the right to exist."--MEALAC (Columbia University) Prof. Joseph Massad, Lecture at Columbia University 2002

"Half a century of systemic maiming and murdering of another people has left its deep marks on the faces of Israeli Jews. The way they talk, walk, the way they greet each other...There is a vulgarity of character that is bone-deep and structural to the skeletal vertebrae of its culture."--MEALAC Chairman Hamid Debashi

This is the last thing I'm responding in this thread to because apparently you can't read.

Criticism of Israel =/= insulting Jews. Take it from Glenn Greenwald, who accurately described what a farce that "movie" was:
The activism described by Weiss was alleged by Glenn Greenwald to be "designed to ruin the careers of Arab professors by equating their criticisms of Israel with racism, anti-Semitism, and bullying, and its central demand was that those professors (some of whom lacked tenure) be disciplined for their transgressions."
Israel is not a stand in for Jews across the world. Criticism of Israel's treatment of Palestinians is not antisemitic. Criticizing the actions of the IDF, Mossad, or Israeli politicians is not antisemitism. The professors were not fired because their actions weren't antisemitic, as I already said. But hey, Bari tried to cancel them all anyways because she's a giant hypocrite that only uses cancel culture to her own benefit while simultaneously deriding its existence.

Now please,
Hop off my nuts dude.
