I don't suffer from either but do you have room in that bubble for the rest off us? It's not that simple for everyone else getting fired or canceled. That includes the ones trying to be fair across the board to all. They're going after Gee. I would hardly consider him far right.
Gee is serving on an advisory Board for another University. Tell me how that is not an overall positive for WVU particularly given his level of experience and insight. As an alumni and former student, I applaud Gee in this. He and I will not agree on everything, but Gee has been an exceptional leader for WVU in may ways.
Hopefully it’s just because they think he’s not fully focused on WVU with this instead of anything political..
The problem here is that it’s not an actual university and never will become one. I find this beneath him.

The people bitching must not understand what it means to be on an advisory board. It requires very little time. I would be surprised if he spent more than 5 hours every couple of weeks and a monthly Zoom call on this thing.
Or their real complaint is about the school itself, which is more likely the case. Either way it’s stupid.

This will seem ad hominem, but it's been my experience that there is no bigger reflection of a hack writer with very little to say than someone who repeatedly writes one sentence paragraphs un-ironically. Faux poignancy, obvious over-compensation for lack of a convincing argument.
