Doubt I make it to 95.Have been trying since I turned 63 but couldn't seem to do it. Today, after winning the VSGA super senior match play title this past week, I shot 65 today to beat my age, 66, by one. FYI, I turn 67 next Friday. Should be a little easier then.

Thanks. At the senior am this August at UVA's Birdwood golf course, I'm one down on 18 to eventual champ, Buck brittain, I'm in the greenside rough on 18 and I just conceded Buck's tap in par. Buck says' " chip it in!" I did from 30 ft. I eventually lost in 20 holes. I did a mini Hal Irwin run around the green.

Did you like it? liked it better as the week went on but not much at first.I played birdwood on the way to richmond last week
You see how he holds off the wedge's face? Doesn't let the head get past his hands? I have guys ask me to help them with their shots around the green all the time. That's the one thing I show them is to finish with the face pointing to the sky.
Careful there or someone will claim you are referencing a certain head coach...was that at the course with the windmill and the clown head?![]()
I played the hard holes well and screwed up some of the easy ones...it was my first time there and I liked the layoutDid you like it? liked it better as the week went on but not much at first.

You da man Airport.....maybe one day you can show that duffer @NYC_Eer how to sink an easy 2 footer on the smoothest part of the green? You see how he holds off the wedge's face? not quite but Im getting thereYou can play bogie golf and shoot your age.
I've consistently shot my age for the last three years.not quite but Im getting there
I shot 71 last year from the senior tees at my old course but I won't be 71 until Nov 24th.....that's the closest I have ever come...from the regular tees I wouldn't stand a chanceI've consistently shot my age for the last three years.
Quite an accomplishment at age 61 now days, but of course, I only play nine holes.
Well, if you beat your age, it still counts, doesn't it? My best score was a 68 at Bridge Haven eight or nine years back, but Airport would probably should in the upper 50s there. I actually haven't played for three years now, due to messing up a finger (torn tendon) three years back, and then having to have surgery on finger next to that one two years ago. Need to figure out a way of injuring myself in November instead of April/May. Sat out this year due to my course closing down, and didn't have the time to drive 30 minutes for multiple league play. Could have played on the weekends, but had too muchI shot 71 last year from the senior tees at my old course but I won't be 71 until Nov 24th.....that's the closest I have ever come...from the regular tees I wouldn't stand a chance
I had to play from 6000 yds in the tourney I was in last weekend with gnarly bermuda rough, I didn't help the pro much except around and on the greens. Going to have to put pride aside and ask for more shots I guess. If I get one about 220-230 now it either hit a sprinkler head or the wind was howling :smiley:Well, if you beat your age, it still counts, doesn't it? I drew Paul Simson and Pat Thompson Friday best ball and Rich Weston and Tim Teaster in alternate shot in the afternoon, the Va-Carolinas. I'm playing in the regular senior division. WV didn't send a super senior. my course has that rough..it's not that high, but you can barely see the top of the ball..just chop it out and keep on truckinI had to play from 6000 yds in the tourney I was in last weekend with gnarly bermuda rough, I didn't help the pro much except around and on the greens.
