I wouldn't watch pro sports, let alone the NBA, if I were getting paid to watch. Want to disrespect America and our living and fallen veterans? Pound sand and get the hell out. I'll be damned before I give you the time of day, let alone my money and or time. I wouldn't walk across the street to watch the Super Bowl, World Series or the NBA Finals, with sideline passes for free. America haters representing America in the Olympics?! Piss off. Move to Cuba or China. The most free and greatest country in the world doesn't want or need you. GTFO

LINK: The NBA is pivoting from their "woke" campaign after seeing two years of bad ratings and warned of "nervousness" surrounding the Olympics amid looming fears of COVID-19.

CLAY TRAVIS: This is the go woke, get broke synopsis year. Last year, worst ratings of all time for the NBA. This year, second worst ratings all time. It's not a coincidence. They went political. Now they're trying to George Costanza-style pretend it never happened. There was almost zero politics this year. That's going to be tough.

There's a lot to be nervous about, I think, if you're an Olympics fan. First of all, we don't know what the overall impact of COVID is going to be. Some of the top athletes could end up getting knocked out of performance. You've got no crowds in the stands at all. The Japanese people overwhelmingly do not want the Olympics to take place. And top sponsors are already pulling out, add in the huge time difference, and I think there's got to be a lot of nervousness about what is usually a signature event around the world that brings us all together. Not so sure that's going to be the case this year.

For someone who wouldn’t watch, you sure do waste time talking about pros. Just saying. No disrespect.

I don’t know your age, but if you are old enough it would be interesting to hear your thoughts of pros who protested back in the 70s, and earlier. Example: Ali refusing to enter the war.

Ali was never going to be sent to fight in Vietnam. He wasn't the first person of his stature to be drafted during a war. Those like him were given cush jobs unless they volunteered to go and fight. He could have answered the call but chose not to because he didn't want to lose money. However they could have also gave him a waiver for being a contentious objector. They probably should have just done that. It wouldn't have been the first time. Him getting stripped of his titles and not being allowed to fight was the wrong direction to go in my opinion. The Supreme Court eventually agreed a couple of years later. Ali also spouted alot of Nation of Islam stuff during that time. As he aged he distanced himself from alot of that. Personally I don't want people in the military that don't volunteer.

Before people say if they would have gave him a waiver for being a CO then they would had to do it for others. They did. All the time. Trying to make an example out of him backfired and was honestly dumb.

Maybe he should have told them he was a Mormon or Quaker.

As long as they're hating on America constantly and being racists, I'm going to speak my mind. Ali wasn't hating on America. I have no issue with people who disagree with war and don't want to kill others. He wasn't Anti-America. He wasn't a racist. He didn't make millions and spit on the flag representing the country that gave him millions.

He didn't represent America in the Olympics and hate on it at the same time. He didn't cry racism by being a racist.

I will definitely talk, in length, about America-hating jackasses. Be it pro sports, college or haters elected to office by leftist sheep.

Hell yeah, I'll talk about it. I'll cut them down every chance I get. I'll do all I can to shame those hating on America.

You can sack-suck them if you want. As long as they're hating on America and its citizens, I'll hate on them. F them and their millions. Get your leftist asses out, if you hate America so bad.

EDIT: Where else in the world, could they be as free, as rich and looked up to as they are than America?

Exactly....Nowhere. They make me sick.

Ali aligned himself with the Nation of Islam and Elijah Muhammed. Ummm.....yeah, not racist? :joy:

EDIT: As for me watching pro sports, I don't watch for their political beliefs, I watch for my entertainment. But to each their own. If you don't, that's fine.

In fairness he moved away from them.

The Nation of Islam taught that White people were devils," Ali wrote in 2004. "I don't believe that now; in fact, I never really believed that. … But when I was young, I had seen and heard so many horrible stories about the White man that this made me stop and listen."

So if these people in 40 years say that they were "sorry" then you guys would forgive them for kneeling?

Then I guess my point is just that if you enjoy sports in general, and skip out from watching them for entertainment for political disagreement, then after 40 years (like my scenario above) you were the one who actually missed out. But, again, you have that right to choose not to watch. Personally, I enjoy sports too much to get caught up in political junk. Every event I attend I notice American spectators ignoring the anthem to grab a beer, or a hot dog, or take a piss, or talk to their people next to them, while I stand in honor of the flag.......it would be wrong for me to go over and tell them they are wrong in doing that.

I think they should stand for the Anthem and Protest on their own time. I'm also not defending Ali's actions. Just stating fact that his opinions about white people changed around 75 and he moved away from the Nation of Islam. I'm not a Muslim so there are alot me and him would have disagreed on. My point is his views over the years changed as he grew older. Those kneeling shouldn't be worried about my forgiveness. They should be more concerned about what happens if the United States fails. They are being used as useful idiots. The end result will not go the way they think.

Ali also grew up in the 50's and 60's so comparing his experience to these athletes today is nonsense.

I, in no way, missed out. They missed out. While me, by myself, don't mean much, many like me hit them where it hurts. The pocketbook. It's a fact.

They are performing for my entertainment. I'm not entertained by their disrespect for America, them calling me a racist and claiming I should be ashamed for being white.

They hate me for being white.

They hate America because of white people.

I call ********.

To become racist to combat racism is dumb.

I refuse to apologize for being white.

I refuse to support those who disrespect America. Especially those who are much more privileged than me, because of the flag they kneel against, in protest. They are keeping racism alive. One should not combat racism by being racist. I refuse to buy into it.

Sports are a pastime that are supposed to bring us together and they are using their platform to divide us.

I'm out.

They have a platform that can be used to unite, but they choose division.

F them

I love sports, but not more than my country, my fellow American nor my morals.

I can do without. Politics do not belong in a place that is supposed to bring us together.

I refuse to be part of our country's destruction.

Division is evil. Pro sports have decided to join leftists in dividing America.

I'm proud not to be part of it. I hope they continue to lose piles of money.

You vote for leftists who are Anti-America. You also voted for an America-hating, pedophile for President.....Then you actually defend their Anti-America antics.

You're a brainwashed, leftist sheep.

Good points. Once you remove and lose your passion for sports (like myself), you see it for what it is. Surprisingly, Americans upset and demanding these players to stand instead of kneel are only playing right into their agenda. They want you mad. They want the attention. Just stop watching. Laugh and point at them. Mock them. Don’t waste your time being upset. Remember, you’re the customer. The customer is always right. Stop buying tickets and merchandise and 1 of 2 things is gonna happen. They either adapt to their customers or they go out of business. In the meantime, go outside. Spend time with your family. If that doesn’t work, find another hobby. Life is too short to waste on these uneducated fools who could care less about you and your well being.

I need some expert advice from someone on the “inside”. Which do you recommend ? The Baconator or the Junior Bacon Classic? Or should I get the Deluxe classic with bacon?
That was actually pretty funny. I chuckled. I’ve never worked in the fast food industry. There is a Wendy’s on my UPS route that I deliver to and make to go orders from. They’re always super busy. Under staffed. Nice hard working people. I would never disparage them for what they do for a living. That’s the difference between me and you. Oh and I’m not a brainwashed moron. That’s another another difference between me and you
