Feel the good folks of WV need to remember that when he tries to run again.

That guy needs to go. He doesn't represent WV values. Hasn't ever really.

Representative government. Not really! Politicians like Manchin bow to the party bosses and care nothing about the people of their States. They cozy up with sweet talk a few months before the elections and then forget all that was said once they get the needed votes. Manchin MUST go at the next election. Same with the other turncoat Republican RINOs. ALL must be defeated ASAP in order to refrain some party reliability and then work to regain the Congress--both houses. Get back the Presidency in 2024 after Biden shows what a very poor selection he iIS with Sleep Around Harris just as awful.

Do we have a recall option?

Not at the Congressional Level. I think only city employees can be recalled under WV law.

I proposed that they create such a recall law to recall the jackass that stormed the capitol building, and broaden the law enough to be able to recall US House and Senate reps. Then, they could have used the law to recall Manchin should he really go down a bad path with Dems. Alas, the jackass resigned and we don't have a law.

Yes joe needs to go! If for no other reason than he has been in D.C long enough. People need to wake up & vote people out after 2 terms.

Should start reducing all elected official’s salaries. And I agree, if 8 years in enough for a president, then Senators should have no more than 2 terms in office. House members shouldn’t serve no more than 8 years either.

About pay, imagine all the insider stock information that they secretly receive or know about.

I can’t imagine the founders ever wanting to spend their life in Congress. You had farmers, blacksmith, etc serving their state back then. Now, unless you’re from a well to do family, you have no shot in joining the cool kids club. A career politician in no way reflects the changing sentiments of a state, especially in they are serving 6 yr terms like Senators do.. The romanticizing of US Congress and career politicians is sad as well. It was never meant to be that way.Senators make $174,000, which is absolutely horrific. Elected officials should make no more than the average US citizens make.

Manchin will be in office as long as he wants. Otherwise, the people of WV would have voted him out a long time ago.

And better audits of anyone in Congress, the money is getting funneled via shell companies and companies controlled by their family members.

You’re talking about the thieves policing themselves. It’s not going to happen. The country is broken. Congress and Senate are barred from investing by insider trading. That’s actually a relatively new law within the last 10 years I think.

A couple of laws could be easily written.

Any entity receiving taxpayer funds without having done a competitive bid process must submit to annual audits of compliance and meet thresholds of funds utilization while following all applicable government regulations for allowable costs audited by DCAA.

No entity receiving taxpayer funds can be allowed to contribute to political campaigns or PACs.

No family member of a sitting member of congress can profit from a policy decision by the US.

Elimination of dark money for any entity engaging in political action. All political donations need to be public.

Have you checked WV history of US. Senators over the past 70 pr more years? Not much h frequent turn over. MM Neely, Jennings Randolph, Jay Rockefeller, Robert Byrd (and I'm sure there are others that currently skip my memory) had very long runs!

Seems the whole country is infected with the idea that being a politician is a career
