Notice the new Dem administration has no respect for WV senior Senator by coming into the state without his knowledge to get support for their bill that will leave WV further behind other states.

The Democrats no longer have a place for moderates in their party. Biden administration couldn’t have been more clear about what they think of Joe Manchin.

Yep. He has the opportunity to help preserve this country and go down in history in a very positive light but I don't think he has the backbone to do so.
Since Pelosi became Speaker the first time, the Democrats have made everything a divisive binary choice. Fence straddling politicians are no longer acceptable, in either party. Manchin represents a state whose culture is diametrically opposed to the modern Democrat party. Evidence of this is the unwillingness of the administration to engage him, instead, they chose to try and muscle him and Sinema. She’ll fall into line. I don’t know that Joe will. He needs to remember who and what he serves and what we represent. Montani Semper Liberi.

His only chance is to change parties and take a serious stand otherwise he will be done. Capito might not be far behind.

And yet he could royally muck up their little game.

Manchin literally could run for President in 2024 and win if he broke rank, announced he’s a Republican and swing the Senate to the GOP. It won’t happen because he’s compromised and weak.

Watching how he handled the Schumer stare down tells you everything you need to know.

I’m not so sure. In our lifetimes has America moved more to the right of the left? This strategy has proved successful and they’re becoming more bold with it all the time.
The left has always survived by pretending they were midstream. That only takes you so far.

Yes. Then they make it so because they have almost all the social influencing factors in their pockets.
This is very true. You see it even on this board when they say X person is supportive of their policy. It’s hilarious to see the people that they place stock in.

Not so sure. If he bends the knee to the loonies on the Left then yeah I’d say he’s done in WV. If he goes moderate or even slightly Right then he’ll be okay.
It’s extremely telling that Harris would try to bypass him with that little media stunt she pulled. It’s also extremely tone deaf of their perception in our state and ignorant to our culture of how WVians perceive those kinds of insults to our own. I’m not sure she could’ve done a more tactically bad maneuver. It’s obvious they’re clueless to WV and our people. We’re obstinate enough to refuse federal aid over insults like those.

The state Republican Party should put a full on blitz over her snubbing of Manchin. Defend him. That would potentially draw him closer to us and further from them. Might buy him his next term in 24 and curry favor towards our needs and desires. The Dems of the state have gone as far left as the national party, so it’d further isolate them in the state as well. It’s what I’d do if I were them.

Unless he goes against his party and doesn’t vote for impeachment and he starts drifting more to the right in a state that fully swung right during Trumps time, then Manchin is done the next election cycle. All this “unity” talk and the Bidophile presidency just keeps making the divide bigger.

Capito tries to play both sides as well and she loses more support each day that she does that. Both should be weary that their voting constituents are not excited about them right now.

Or the rest of America. With those he chose for his admin, might as well raise you right hand and salute, Seig Heil!

Maybe the answer is to switch parties, if the republicans would have him. Were he to do so the Dems lose control of the Senate. A mighty blow to their power grab. The 51:49 would then also nullify VP ‘sleep around’. All sounds like positive moves to me!
