Obviously, WVU’s baskeball strength is when Culver is leading the rebounding and McBride is dishing off the ball for assists.


Derek was the top rebounder in 5 of the 7 Mountaineer games. And top scorer in 3. Our best shot-blocker, too.
McBride has led in assists in 6 games. And the top scorer in 3. And our best ball thief.
Taz Sherman and and Gabe Osabuohlen are our most accurate 3-point shooters.
Sean McNeil, Taz, Miles and Derek all are averaging in double figures in scoring.
If only Oscar would find his way. He’s 2nd in rebounding, 5th in points but his personal fouls bugaboo meant 5 players have more minutes than him.
He has huge potential. But that’s worthless if it doesn’t show up on the court. He’s his own worst enemy when it comes to personal fouls, which puts him on the bench early for game after game.
Osabuohlen impresses me with his improvement. If only Oscar could follow Gabe’s example.
With the Iowa State game at 9 pm Friday on ESPNU starting the Big 12 conference matchups Huggins must be impatient to see Oscar get his act together. I sure am.
