Fact Check:
Brooking Institution is Left-Center biased based on donations to Democratic candidates......... 96% of Brookings donations go to Democratic candidates and causes .

Good lord, moron. It’s like you guys try really hard to be idiots.

The Brookings Institution is a nonprofit organization devoted to independent, in-depth research that leads to pragmatic and innovative ideas on how to solve problems facing society. Brookings’s commitment to institutional independence is rooted in the individual independence of its scholars. Therefore, the Institution does not take positions on issues.

Here is all you need to know about both Trump's and Biden's plans.

This information comes from the Spartansstink Institute - the most trusted and reliable name there is for information about, well, everything!

Neither of them are worth the paper they are printed on.

Until the government stops spending more than they take in, everything else is a wash.

Brookings was also heavily involved with the Steele dossier.

Non-partisan my hairy butt.

Is there a specific policy you can point me to? Again, odd that industry flourished under Obama and tanked under Trump.
Yes, his Climate Change platform which is structured on the Green New Deal framework. Pushing zero carbon emissions in 15 years, making Green energy the cheaper alternative, and we all know there is only one way to do that barring some major tech advances.

I mean, you can also just listen to him say that we’re going to end fracking about a dozen times if you’d like.

End fracking is on public land. Transitioning to new technologies doesn't automatically mean we will tax the "mortal piss" out of old energy. IE - See Obama years v Trump years

It’s a multi-faceted approach where you reasonably tax it, make regulatory changes to the users effectively killing demand and forcing change, and subsidize the new technology. Dude, your low hanging talking points might work on the rubes who will agree with anything the party says, but don’t try to pull that weak assed **** with people who have experience in business.

How is that different than ******** Trump is doing by picking winners and losers? I'm glad you think so highly of yourself, but I don't think everyone sees embracing cleaner, future technologies as a bad thing. Should government be in charge of evolution? No. That ship sailed with you guys years ago tho. Who knows, maybe Biden in office can get us (Americans and specifically WVians) back in the Chinese market? I know how much they scare you, but I see that you are now against killing demand and forcing change while we subsidize politically convenient industries. :joy: :joy: :joy:

You are the idiot.......They do take positions. When their scholars do Op-Ed's and post research on their site.....it is taking a position.

Yeah...who ever heard of major tech advances? So, instead of focusing on that let's just keep mining coal. Your "experience in business" should teach you that you either advance or die...much like the state of WV.

LMAO! They are nonpartisan. Good lord, you're a moron.
Another "fact check" :
"Overall, we rate Brooking Institution Left-Center biased based on donations to primarily Democratic candidates, as well as policy advocacy that favors the left. We also rate them Very High for factual reporting due to strong sourcing and a clean fact check record."

"Policy advocacy" is indeed taking a position.

So you're okay with Biden picking winners and losers in industry, but not Trump?

Okay? No. But it's a not a matter of one candidate in control and the other not. I think Biden will control less and trust him more than Trump, yes.

I think the opposite. I think Biden will inject policy into practically every industry.

Nope. Owe nothing to coal, but I'm not a self absorbed *** like you.
Self absorbed. Good one. I don't think you know what that work means. I'm for policies that help others. You are and the right of the righties on here are in it for yourselves.

what evidence is there the righties on this board are in it for themselves? What are they in for the left isn't (accept all things Trump)?

Do you think its safe to say all righties want to reduce taxes, keep the energy sector as unregulated as possible (and if you live in WV you are most focused on coal), and are OK taking peoples' rights to same sex marriage, abortion, etc?

All of those things are about you and what you want. The right wants to keep taxes low, but I'm fine w/ taxes being higher if its helping more people. The right wants to keep the energy sector unregulated...and like I said if you live in WV you want the coal industry to come back. Even though the coal industry is old news, will not create as many jobs for other people as a new green industry would...and it is harmful to the environment, which affects everyone. Therefore a lot of people in WV would rather get their 5k coal jobs back rather then help the rest of the country w/ job growth and a better environment.

And most righties would be fine taking one's right to have an abortion, marry someone from the same sex, etc. Not that any of those things affect you personally, but those on the right because of their own religious views have an interest in taking other people's rights away because its against what they believe in.

Just a few.

Look at WestchesterEer's one man war on coal. We get it: There aren't any coal mines in the greater New York City area, so pi$$ on the people in the coal fields who have the highest paying jobs in area, and nothing with which to replace them. Go to Hell, libtard.

One article versus all the info in the world that coal is dirty, inefficient, and a dying industry. Kills the environment too. Good luck w/ that. You should go invest whatever money you have in coal companies. I'll stick to newer technologies.

It's not one article....it's the fact that Germany is actually bringing coal fired plants back on line and India can't survive without coal. China is in the same boat.

It might be dirtier, it might not be the future, but it's keeping the lights on in at least 3 major economies. I know a handful of friends who make a living in coal...(in fact, one of the biggest libs on this board owes his livelihood to coal) and WV coal is being shipped to Germany...and not being consumed in the US. Once we get our LNG capacities in full swing...they will start buying LNG from us....and yes, I did just cash a royalty check for 6 wells and Utica is being drilled as we speak...good times
