Pretty sure debate organizers will want control of microphones to avoid another chaotic pissing match. And Biff won't go for that.

If I were Biden I wouldn't debate unless the moderator has the power to turn Trump's mic off at the end of his allotted time and not provide him an opportunity to interrupt. That absolutely has to be a condition for the final debate. Otherwise, I (Biden) decline to participate.

And Biff absolutely won't back down because it's Biff. With him running out of money, clock ticking and walls caving in, I'm convinced Biff would go completely apeshit-spastic in another debate. I'd love for that to happen, but I don't think it will.

It’s amusing that you all don’t recognize that Biden was as bad as Trump.

Why would you want to mute Trump and help him?

Totally against that idea in any fashion, regardless of nominees.

Oh, I definitely want him to go batshit crazy for the entire world to see, but I think the debate organizers want some sense of civility.

And the first debate was a disaster because of the mayhem.
lol. Feel like we're talking in circles. Don't watch the debate. Some years I am sure there are undecideds that learn from debates (not this year), but debates are mostly for partisan dunking these days.

Funny, I haven't watched an actual debate in a long time, I just catch the highlights afterward. And I don't see how there could possibly be ANY undecideds at this point. My point was from the viewpoint of the debate organizers, not my personal views.

Seriously...... how in the world do you interrupt someone
158 times within 90 minutes? Per Biden's speaking time
of approximately 45 minutes, that's one interruption every
17.08 seconds. Trump has to be suffering from Adult Attention
Deficit Disorder.

No point in Trump really debating. Trump is a lousy debater he is ill informed and can't stand on the stage a lie through his teeth for 90 minutes. One of the biggest mistakes he made in this race was the dementia thing. He set the bar so low for Biden. All Biden had to do is stay on script. Chris Christie was pissed at Trumps performance. Christie told Trump how to respond but he didn't listen. Not sure why anyone would be surprised. Trump is an egotistical windbag.

You mean have another liberal moderator and only 2 minutes to comment on question. A moderator that helps Joey along because the demented soul will not know when his failing *** is. Yeah, another liberal controlled event...where have we witnessed that before?

Are you able to use a calculator, dumbass? Here is the Math:

45 minutes (Biden's approx speaking time) X 60 seconds = 2,700 seconds

2,700 seconds divided by 158 interruptions = 1 interruption per every 17.08 seconds

Basically, every 1/4 of a minute, Trump interrupted Biden. Pathetic & Inexcusable.

I vote no more debates. The 1st debate was a debacle. Everyone has decided who they are going to vote for anyways.

There should be debates. More of them, too.

The biggest problem is the format.

Who can talk in-depth about an issue in just a couple of minutes? Who can respond to any serious topic in 2 minutes? This format only leads to what we saw last time - silly remarks, attempts at wit, and futile attempts at "gotcha" moments.

I would propose a debate like this. Pick a topic a night for a week. Give the candidates 15-20 minutes to discuss their views on the matter. For the second half/rest of time allow a moderator to ask questions to the candidates so that they can elaborate/defend their positions. Finally, allow the candidates to give a brief closing statement then shut it down.

No douchebag analysts trying to inform us of who "won". Go to some regularly scheduled crappy programming that is always on the channel. If folks want to tune in to Fox or MSNBC for their takes, fine. But no schmucks like Chuck Todd throwing in his two cents under the guise of impartiality.

From that format, maybe we'll actually learn something about the candidates. Their depth of knowledge, their ideas and philosophies, their character instead of the showboating we get now.

It will be very hard to do for Biden but he should agree to anything Trump wants regarding a debate format. Neither one is going to “win” in a true sense, but Trump won’t be able to stop himself from being Trump. He’s his worst enemy at this point. He’ll bully his way through. He’ll make Biden look like **** while doing it, but he’ll come out looking worse.

I wouldn’t watch one minute of it, because I know not one thing will be learned from it. But the end result will be that Trump turns more people off because of it than Biden. It’s a low *** bar, but that’s where we’re are at this point.

Sadly, this is true.

If Trump had any advisors, or listened to them, they should have told him that Joe has been in that basement for months memorizing answers to questions. You aren't going to rattle him at this point because all he's going to do is repeat what he has memorized. He's not Hillary. He's not that disliked so you have to hit him at his biggest weakness.

The important thing is not to cut him off. Let him speak. Don't interrupt him, hit him with a question or make him defend himself in something he doesn't have memorized. That's when Joe blows up - when he has to talk off the cuff. The more he talks, the bigger the idiot he looks.

Then, someone has to say the same to him - the more you talk the bigger the idiot you look. So, stop it. Tell the people what you've done - memorize this list of your accomplishments, and repeat them ad nauseum.

Simple strategy...its a winning one.

You’re right. There was an article that showed that was his teams advice, which he couldn’t help but ignore. Biden is horrible and I was just waiting for the gaffe. But if someone keeps interrupting you and letting you off the hook, you don’t have enough time to show you don’t have a platform.

Only positive from that for me was that Trump did worse than Biden and reinforced what most people already knew about Trump.
