Trumpers won't care. They are too busy thinking up excuses and sucking Trump's *** over covid stupidity.

Almost like they don't understand what anything means. Just blindly follow "their guy" and act like any resistance is anti American. :joy: :joy: :joy:

trump is god. Everyone else is stupid. Trump is honest. Everyone else is lying. Best president ever. He's going to release his taxes as soon as that audit is over. Mexico is going to pay for the wall. He alone can fix it. He is the likes of which no one has ever seen. Believe me. Bigly.

That's rich...lol...Wake up and look at the pedophile you're sniffing, for crying out loud. And you want to talk about not caring? Talk about excuses and sucking a racist, pedophile's *** over stupidity. I don't think you're going to be able to handle another 4 years.

If only Trump would have got Covid in early 2020, this could have been adverted. No leadership. Biden will fix it.

Meanwhile puppet Biden waiting for his next prefilled teleprompter speech.

Can you show me where his teleprompters were last night? TIA.

Biden quote.“The reason I was able to stay home during the pandemic is because some black woman was able to stack the grocery shelf.

You trying to say Biden is TIA? (A transient ischemic attack) TIA is a warning sign, because it often precedes a full stroke. I'm 100% sure you had no clue.

how much of what used to be political talking points are no longer talking points since Trump came into office?

Immigration isn't out front. Gun control doesn't get the same levels of attention, but does surface. Class warfare does get some but rarely is "pay your fair share" thrown out by the media. The deficit certainly hasn't been a media football accept, likely in the business media circles. And there certainly are more topics typically getting a lot of attention that doesn't just yet because Trump gets all the attention.

The media can only cover so much to either support the left on or blame the right for to keep interest. Trump has taken all the attention. Once he is out of the way the deficit will return along with all the other talking points.

Do you think there will ever be a time we do not have a large deficit? Will it always be with us?

I'm not sure I agree with most of your post, but to clue in on the last paragraph....yes. I do believe there will come a time we will have smaller deficits. We generally shrink our deficits during good year(s)/runs, with the Trump years being noticeable outliers - pre Covid.

so you don't think typical talking points are not more prominent considering the effort the media and left have expended towards Trump?

I don't even know what you are trying to say here? Is it more of just media is meanies to Trump? If so, LMAO. This isn't the 1950s with 3 news channels. Trump gets plenty of glowing/flattering propaganda.

And none of that has anything to do with my answer on deficits.

you asked in the beginning whether the deficit was a big deal in 2016? I entered the conversation by suggesting talking points changed. I gave examples of what used to be prominent talking points but are now less so because of the media attention on Trump. I then asked you a question about the future size or duration of the deficit. You gave a civil answer about your disagreement as well as a point of view of shrinking (implying maybe even permanent) deficits. I brought the conversation back to talking points being less so because of media attention on Trump. Everything I said collectively had everything to do with your question about the 2016 importance of the deficit verses now where it isn't important because of my premise the media is talking exclusively about Trump.

You would have had a better point if you explicitly responded with whether it mattered to Trump. The answer in my mind is obviously no, it doesn't matter to him. Look at his personal finances of owing millions supposedly in taxes. And I agree with you it doesn't matter to his followers either as long as he gets into office. It's another example of political hypocrisy.

In the context of importance vs Biden? No. I’m accepting of it. I really don’t like it though, but when it’s that or deficits+hold muh beer Biden, it’s pretty clear. There is no deficit reduction candidate in this election, thus, it’s not a talking point.

I can see this point of view. It also suggests it is similar to the media's point of view. It's not a big deal to them because destroying Trump is the bigger deal consuming nearly all of media time. And you are right there is no deficit reduction candidate so in essence it isn't a big deal to the left either. So we keep deficits and brag when they shrink and wonder if they are a big deal with they expand.

The deficit spending is a problem. No question. When >70% of the budget are mandatory outlays, I’m not sure how you fix it.

so I am looking into the past to see what polls say liberals say about the deficit. It hasn't been their priority. So far in 2011 32% percent of solid liberals did not see it as a priority nor did 50% of liberals. Conservatives did so more than liberals, according to Pew.

Please do tell us what the Dims have in mind to fix the deficit spending. I mean they control the House - what have they put out there to a vote?

Raise taxes on the rich and open the borders, that will solve all our ills!

Trade deficit. Are you even trying to follow along? It's hard to follow you, tbh.

I don't necessarily think "talking points" have changed, other than covid has dominated the last 8 months. Your Orange God is the President of the United States. He has some say as to what the talking points are.
