I hope and pray the kneeling doesn’t leak into college football especially our mountaineers!! I truly think that would be it for me. How do you all feel?

You might as well prepare yourself because it's coming. I don't know why they play the national anthem before games anyway.

As it was mentioned, in college the players aren't on the field during the anthem, but there will be political displays in other forms, I'm sure.

I stopped watching NBA and NFL years ago, not because of politics just because of interest...but the politics just affirmed my indifference.

College football is different, I still watch..but less because of real life obligations. However, this year I will intentionally not be watching, including WVU. It has become unenjoyable, I just dont see a point of participating.

The players dont really bother me, but when a coaching staff and administration start trying to be politically influential over the fans, I will just walk away.

He’s been too busy on Zoom recently discussing teachers union matters Lol

3:54 am? Don't you have a life? I thought you were in school to be a doctor? Or is that a lie, too? Perhaps a call to your school to do some drug testing on you just to see what keeps you going? Hmm....

What branch did you serve in?

What year did you graduate from WVU, what was your major?

What does that have to do with it? I was referring to the numerous videos of vets out there that have said that they fought to protect a person's right to kneel, if that's what they want to do. They don't have to like it, but that's the beauty of being in the United States.

Again, not sure why I'm being looked at as the bad guy here. I stand during the anthem. I salute the flag. I respect all veterans. I don't call them "losers" because they were captured. That's someone else. Have a great day!

Rotations? So instead of being on the floor, you are on the computer. Cool. Sure they'd love to know that.

And what's with the "chunk" comment? I'm not even fat.

Yeah, if a hospital found out an employee used his phone during work they would be terminated immediately.

My wife just sent me a text from work, at a hospital...i guess she needs to start looking for a new job.

Depends....is she a good employee or still a student working on bad habits?

They died so people can be allowed to voice opinions that people may disagree with

Do you understand how this country actually works. Took me some time to see it for what it actually is.

But ultimately players aren't out there for the anthem.
Shows how much of a tool some people are that can't understand the disrespect that kneeling shows for the ones that gave it all so they can voice their opinions.

Or just don't watch...listen to...or attend these games being played by millionaires whining about social or racial injustice. Tank the No Fans League division of the Burn Loot Murder movement.
Multi millionaires that have God given gifts that 99% of the rest of the population doesn't have complaining about social or racial injustice. Give me a break. Shows you how much of a mental midget these guys really are.

Then I assume the vets who think kneeling for the anthem is distasteful and disrespectful still feel the same way.

Pretty simple, imo.
I golf with a vet that thinks kneeling is a right and is NOT disrespectful. There are about 12 of us that golf weekly and most are vets. After an afternoon of golf the group of us stopped into the local American Legion for a few. Got talking about this and that vet was almost run out of the room. He and his wife are EXTREMELY Left wing wackadoodles. He doesn't stop in for a few after golf any more.

But they are voicing their opinions

Flag is a symbol.
Our symbols aren't more important than what they stand for

When you make symbols more important than what they stand for you are actually destroying this country....

That is how I see it.

National Anthem and Flag don't define this country.
Same reason why the Supreme Court overturns every law against Flag Burning.

When you make rules that goes against what our country is about to save a symbol you are actually doing much worse than the people taking a knee or burning the flag

We as a country need a Civics lesson because we have people who obviously don't care about this country...
In their mind they think they are protecting this country but you can't destroy what this country stands for in order to protect it.

I am just glad that you are no longer voting for a man who thinks that anyone serving in the military is a loser and a sucker.
This rumor was spread around the USMC. What General John Kelly said isn't new with a lot of Marines. There were whispers about this for the last few years.
Gen. Kelly commanded my son in the Battle of Fallujah. All the Marines who were in Iraq during that period were under the command of General John Kelly. He is a very highly respected Marine.

TVZ is correct. Although we don't all agree with it, these stickers, the kneeling, and all the rest are expressions of free speech.

A person has the right to express themselves even though we may disagree with the manner or what they are saying. That's what our soldiers fought for and died for.

You want to burn the flag? That's your right. You want to protest? That's your right. You want to put slogans and stickers on your uniform? That's your right.

But here is my right - the right to protest you with my dollars and viewership. Because I feel sorry for those people who think football - HS, college, or pro - is that important to their lives. My dollars go to my values, and if I don't value your views or judgement, you don't get my dollars.

Enough people think like me then our next recruit better have a 4.2. Not a 40 time but a GPA because that's the only way his butt is getting into WVU. Then we'll all be better off for it because scholarship will be just that - academic merit - and running, throwing, and catching will be secondary like it should be.

Stupid about everything...
Players aren't on the field during the anthem.
Pretty much creating a hypothetical that cannot happen to voice your opinion about a certain subject.

But the problem is you don't believe the players have the right to holding an opinion so why should anyone listen to yours
Townes I suggest another way - kneel BEFORE the National Anthem and stand during the National Anthem - that way we have both protest and respect. A key question is do the Mountaineers represent the University? And does the University have the right to set the rules of conduct? I know that when I worked, my employer would not have allowed me to make a political speech to my co-workers during work time.

I hope and pray police and others stop murdering U.S. citizens, stop being excused from legal punishment when they do stray from the law,
and all citizens of the United States can once and for all be treated the same when it comes to justice in this country.

Until then, if people need to kneel to protest oppression and the rabid killing of U.S. citizens that is going on and endlessly going unpunished, then so be it.

How could any human being be more upset about someone kneeling in protest than they are against murder, illegitimate harassment and lack of the justice system doing anything to stop it or punish those acting illegally? It boggles sane minds. Pure evil at its worst.

Hello! The issue is MURDER and criminality towards certain people and LACK OF JUSTICE FOR THAT MURDER AND CRIME--NOT KNEELING TO PROTEST IT!

Honestly what part of that do some people not comprehend?

We fought wars to give our citizens the right to protest in any legal way they deem appropriate. Why do you hate the military and the sacrifices our soldiers and sailors made?

Evidently you didn’t read my comments through this thread. I’m not gonna argue with you. You have the right to believe anything you want and so do I. I just wish we could leave them out of sports. I think It would be hard to find anyone that hates the military.

Riots are not legal as are most of the actions of the BurnLootMatter/Antifa low life. These morons and supporters don't understand the difference between crime and expression. Do you moron?

Issue here is that no one has an idea of who is committing the crimes but you are quick with placing blame.

You are allowing other people to tell you what is going on and often times these people have a biased POV. Should be smarter than that. Never believe second hand information.

I am not there. If I was there I would have a better understanding of what is going on.
I have learned through training and experience what to accept as concrete truth.
You are accepting this as concrete truth without asking questions. Reason why you are getting so emotional about it while I am not.

When you are getting emotional about things it is usually people putting things in your mind. This is why propaganda is so dangerous because it pulls on us emotionally.
When you see those things blaming BLM/Antifa or whoever on social media they are playing with your emotions. Most of the time they have no idea who those people are. But let's blame BLM.

They want you to hate blacks...What is happening is that you have two movements based on propaganda. But the fuel is being added based on your reactions towards each other. You are beginning to prove what they feel...

That depends.....if your team wins a championship then it's fine.......

Honest question, do you completely disregard the stories about ultra right wing groups (Boogaloo) that are stirring up some of the rioting themselves?
