I was born a Mountaineer but I was also born a Steeler fan. WVU, Steelers and Pirates are the only sport teams I care about. My sons are Steeler fans and they have never even been near Pittsburgh. I have been keeping my fingers crossed hoping no Steelers would take a knee so I could at least watch them. But found out yesterday the NFL is pulling a NBA woke job like taking the team's names off the field and replacing them with SJW BS, names on helmets, etc. So there is no way you can just watch a game and cheer for your team. Well I love my Steelers but I am out.

I think this video explains how I feel.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

You damn snowflake. Get used to it. The entire NFL will bring attention to the current **** show at every game, not just the Steelers.

I legit don't understand why anyone would let **** like this get in their way of something they enjoy. I'm sure there are many musicians, actors, writers, athletes etc that have views different than me, and it won't affect me 1 bit.

Seems like the ultimate snowflake move, imo, but to each their own I guess.

Maybe because they enjoy watching the game to escape from other **** and are tired of being inundated with political messages...that's my guess

I quit watching professional sports many years ago, even before TRUMP made it the cool thing to do.

Edit: I watch hockey, but haven't tuned into much of that in the last few years, but that's due to the decline of the Detroit Red Wings.

I'll watch a few NFL games when former WVU players play. I did go to a Panthers game last fall, but didn't get to see Grier play, though. Oh, and usually the Superbowl.

That's it for pro sports for me.

Very true, but if I went to concert, and in between every other versus the singer yelled something I disgree with politically, I'm probably going to get annoyed by the distraction and leave. The NBA is killing themselves, hate to see the NFL continue the idiotic trend.

I want to watch sports, not politics, when I'm watching sports. To hell with pro sports.

So....just retreat into a bubble, ignore the world and miss out on something you enjoy? Ok. Have at it.

I don't see how it would affect my enjoyment of the concert. If I went to a concert and the musician played no songs and only railed on politics I disagree (or agree) with, then I would stop going. Farm Aids and **** like that rail against globalization and free trade, I still go to anyone close to me and have a blast.

Which is far different from what I've been talking about. I find most pro sports (especially pro football) boring. Now that I can bet on pro football and basketball I watch them more.

It’s 2020, I don’t have endure anything that would lessen my experience and enjoyment. There are far too many options out there for me to spend my money and time on. For instance, I got tired of Dana’s subpar products several years ago. I diverted my $20k a year that was going to WVU football into fishing. Seems pretty simple to me.

But that has nothing to do with people getting triggered over stupid ****.

People disrespecting the National Athemn isn't stupid **** to many millions. Neo-Marxist organizations that are calling more than half their audience racist because they disagree with them politically is a disaster waiting to happen as a business model. There are ways to get support for your causes. This isn't one of them. Its only going to cause more division.

I don't either. I enjoy watching the sport. I don't care about what players have on their helmets, shirts, shorts, socks, cleats, shoes, etc. etc. etc. I also don't care what the athletes/coaches/owners say. It doesn't matter.

You seem to be focusing on the other side of the issue. Why are people so soft that a differing of opinion leaves them to cower in isolation? I don't get it.

Is it about the 'other side' or is it the noise it creates...like going to a movie theater to watch a movie you have been wanting to see and the lights are left on or people are talking...it's the distraction from what you came to see.

Kind of seems like your other things to do is find things to get worked up about. lol

Doesn't seem like sports meant that much to you and you are just enjoying the whining, snowflakery of this for political/cultural reasons. Enjoy!

It's not being soft. It's simply a ****** business model. If they keep up they will lose fans.

Yep that's it, every time someone posts a message it's whining or snoweflaking. Imagine that...people posting on a message board. What has the world come to. Maybe you should run with that business model - a message board where posting messages is frowned upon.

Agree....I don't do boycotts and I watch what I want to watch.......kinda of like Tump and his choice of music at his rallies. He plays what he wants in spite of the anti Trump snowflake musicians who try to stop his playing of their music.

Oh and yes I enjoy watching football...not football with a political or social justice tinge to it. So I can find other things to do as what the NFL will be providing is SJW Football.

Ok. I will never understand letting someone else get me so butthurt I quit doing things I enjoy, but to each their own. Tis still a free country.

I think you're overstating your ability to determine when someone is butthurt when they're just posting on a message board.

Yes a free country to spend my time and money how I see fit - not a hard concept even for you to grasp. I don't go to movies I don't want to see...I don't go to concerts I don't want to hear...I don't go to restaurants if I don't like their food. Again not a hard concept...but in your world that's some how being butthurt I guess. The NFL is changing their product...It's not the same as what I bought in the past...I don't have to buy their product now if I don't like what they have changed to. To suggest otherwise is tone deaf and asinine.

WVU football? Depending on the season, I had either 6 or 4 season tickets on lower level 47 yard line. I was flying in from Cali every home game for 3 years while I was out there. Including the Spring Game. I was going to every bowl game and had since the 90s, even when I was in the military. My last season was SkyHo’s 10 win.

Now, I just listen to the games when I’m out fishing. Once it gets too cold, I’ll watch the games on TV, but my days of dumping that much money into a season are all but over.

Yeah but but but you did all that in the past so you must do it now or else you're butthurt and never liked it in the first place.

It reminds me of when ESPN would be televising a game and the announcers would go on a planned tangent about something while the game was still live and in play. They would reduce the screen size and talk about whatever the subject was. That impacted my experience and I would usually turn it to something else. I tuned in to watch a game, not to have to guys talk about something vaguely relevant to the game.

Right....kind of seems like you just lost interest in it? Or wouldn't take the financial toll. Or got older. Had nothing to do with snowflake cultural reasons that amount to .01% of the experience.
