Absolutely crazy! Lawyers will make another fortune ! I heard the interview that Neil Cavuto had with the Democrat member of California's House. He kept saying that California had legal grounds to do it. Not so sure about that.

We no longer live in a free society. Liberals are pushing their agenda and control during a pandemic. Lies, manipulation and unrest have given them their chance to bring their craziest far left Government to the US. When will Biden start calling this country The United States Of China?

Its funny how Democrats scream to raise taxes to an unbearable % then create loopholes that only the extremely rich can maneuver, just to cry they are looking out for the small business & middle class.....funny I tell ya just funny....
Small businesses & middle class need low taxes & no red tape ....

LOL. That doesn’t even make sense.
How would they enforce it? I guess if you had a state pension based by employment there they could try but there's no way that it would be upheld by a conservative SC

NYC has tried to do the same thing in a way. They audit you and if they can prove you still spend a certain % of your time in NYC they will claim you still have residency there. I would assume this would be similar in some form.

If you get your income there, they could. Some sort of public pension levy a withholding tax. Limbaugh said they audit him every year but he doesn't pay anything. I doubt if a Florida court would hold a NY tax legal and make the Florida resident pay. As long as you never returned to the **** hole, you'd have nothing to worry about

Rush talked about this, they audit him for something like 10 years after he moved to Florida.

My son pays NYC city taxes as he works there but he lives in NJ. His taxes are pretty complicated for a 26 year old. They have lost so much money due to people leaving it is really starting to have a major impact.

As an example to how crazy it is there, my son's girlfriend's uncle bought the space above buildings in NYC over 50 years ago. If someone wants to build upward above the original building, they have to lease the space from him forever...He is loaded to say the least.

Both proposed and unlikely to pass. Do you live there? If not why do you care?
All voters should care , the candidate running for Vice president is from there & it shows her school of thought.
Birds of a feather flock together.
Not saying she cant have different views, but a person should try and understand her past to project her future. We all know Biden ain't gonna make it .

I have to say most NY is pretty liberal especially the closer to the city you get. But CA and SF specifically are pretty far out there.

Are you kidding? They represent the current mainstream base of the Democrat party!

California has done this for a long time, too. Many Southern Californians have bought houses in the Greater Las Vegas area, and are required to reside in Nevada for more than 50% of the year so as to not have to pay CA's high state income tax. The CA Nazis will go through your trash, etc. in an attempt to prove that you're a CA resident.

@NYC_Eer trying to run away from the base of his own party...the very folks he claims will bury Trump....

I'm going to make loony Leftists like @NYC_Eer regret ever knowing me atl

I think they're already afraid of you DJT....look at him running away from his own party!

@NYC_Eer

You did say this didn't you?

And you didn't answer the question in post # 32...so can't we assume you're running away from your own loser party?

Yup...you're runnin'...you're a loser too Dude!

I don’t see how they would enforce something for 10 years if you actually move, but if you’re spending time in both FL and NY they will monitor how many days in a given year you spend in NY. If you spend more than 180 days in NY they will consider you a NY resident and tax you accordingly. They are serious about it. My in-laws has a place in NY and FL for years and they would monitor their flights back and forth.

Weren't you the one on here just a couple of weeks back insisting folks who leave New York are only doing so until things "settle down" there? "They'll come back" is what I recall you boasting.

So why then would anyone want to maintain a residence in New York after leaving, just to have the crap taxed out of 'em? Isn't that usually the main reason most folks leave in the first place (to avoid getting raped in taxes), or are you just lying to make that high tax sh*t hole appear better than it really is?

Fake news.

So if I'm understanding you correctly, the Democrat party does not need California Leftists to defeat Trump? They're too extreme, and the party rejects things they favor like higher taxes on the Super wealthy, their calls for free medical care for all illegals, their demands ending ICE and all deportations, and stricter gun controls on all Americans? Democrats oppose all of that far Left agenda correct @NYC_Eer?

Well then @NYC_Eer exactly what are you saying? You're a liar? Stupid?
